I got the 4WD small mini Excavator for my niece, and she absolutely loves it. The fully electric digging arm is a hit, making her feel like a real construction worker. I bought this for my 4 year old grandson. The first day he rode it, he tipped it over. Luckily he was not hurt. It does not dig in the sand. He gets out and puts sand into the bucket and then drives it a few feet and dumps it. The battery only lasts an hour. He likes it, but grandma does not.

Very sturdy and well designed. Everything is solid, including the wiring. Our 2.5 year old grandson loves construction equipment. It took him maybe 30 minutes to figure out how the very realistic joysticks control the vehicle, and he was off. He loves it. Asphalt to grass to asphalt, forward, backward and spin. The digging arm works well although it doesn’t really dig anything; just looks like it could. It runs quite a while on one charge (maybe 30 minutes or more) and is easy to recharge. It seems as if it’ll hold up to abuse. It certainly has over the last few days. Assembly was quite easy as required under an hour.

We’ve had a really good experience! We were sent a damaged one which was a pain, but the company quickly shipped another one. It’s perfect! The media could not be loaded. It wasn’t difficult to assemble… I tested it out when i got it put together… Test is in the video! My grandson LOVES it… the range is great and can get around 60 yards away from the remote without losing signal to the remote… it will lose bluetooth signal to a phone(for music) after about 30 -40 feet but that isn’t a deal breaker! The 6 speed settings are easygoing for a little one and if you’re second guessing getting this… GET IT!!! It’s as much fun for adults as it is for the kids!

This excavator is seriously fun and has so many bells and whistles! It gets a ton of use at our house and is even able to drive up and down the hill in our yard without issue. Assembling this ride-on took some work and probably an hour or so to do solo but wasn't difficult. Once assembled, we charged ours for a bit but it did have some battery power out of the box. As for functionality, this excavator is great fun and can haul a kid in the seat and another being pulled behind in a wagon (my kids have discovered). We have a decent sized hill in our yard and this thing tackles it just fine except for the really steep parts. My kids think the radio bluetooth feature is pretty terrific and I especially love the remote control option so parents can easily help out (or step in) if a younger child wants a ride or if there is a safety concern, rather than having to chase the kids down as they drive wildly across the yard! There are speed adjustment settings, a rocking setting (which my kids don't care for but that's fine) and so much more that the trickiest part is just figuring out the extensive features! The digging arm goes up and down and in and out but doesn't rotate side to side. It is able to dig into very loose sand but my kids place rocks and packages into the bucket by hand and drive them around for fun. The couple of things that brought my rating down were that ours seems to have some sort of faulty wiring or something in the connection from the hand controls to the excavator because we can only get this to move forward by using the remote. The hand controls work for reverse and worked a little bit to move forward (with a lot of pressure and coaxing) when we first assembled it but stopped after the first use. Fortunately, it is still usable but in order for our kids to drive themselves in it we have to give them the remote so they can sit in it and control it with the remote rather than the joy sticks inside the excavator. Secondly, it's frustrating that there is no charge indicator light on the excavator. You plug it in and have no idea if there is a connection or not and just have to hope it's working then go back and try it after awhile. Having a charge indicator light, or better yet, a battery level indicator somewhere would be super helpful! Overall, this excavator has been great fun. We've tried to troubleshoot the forward-motion issue with the joy sticks and can't figure out the problem but are still getting a lot of use out of this ride-on using the included remote. Very cool toy for young kids and hopefully this connectivity issue is just an isolated issue.
