  • KY-2020D sound bar
On 3/27/25, Max helped me, over the phone, to get my KY-2020D sound bar hooked up and working with my Samsung TV. Max was very professional, knowledgeable, helpful and understandingly kind to an old woman. I am very pleased with the results of this sound bar quality and performance.

  • Great little soundbar for the price😎
Just got this soundbar to avoid having to deal with this new issue of the TVs buzzing on bass sounds. 2 hdmi ports taken on the back of the TV meant using either optical or (yes, it came with the rc cable, the OG of audio connection options.) Found a YouTube tech review video comment section full of the tears of people who bought this same soundbar. Most of them were crying that using any of the newer connection options resulted in the audio dropping out during "quiet moments" of anything they were watching. So, I considered the rc cable. (But I wondered if their issues had more to do with settings on the TV than the connectors they chose.) Then I remembered the guy in the review video had said, more than once, that he was actually using the OG rc cable, and found it was doing a great job. And this is why I opted to do the same. (For now, at least. I figured I could sort out potential issues with using this soundbar and other connection options later on, if I didn't like the quality of the old school set up.) And everything was fine. At first. I was happy with the sound quality as the default TV news show. Ngl, I wasn't thrilled with the lack of eq options, other than the button on the soundbar remote to either be "music" or "movie" or "news" quality. And I figured I'd sort this too, at some point. But for now, live TV sounded better without the buzzing from the TV frame and the onboard speakers playing, like before. Then I hopped on the apps, and loaded up Netflix. The sudden volume of the BOOM of the Netflix loading being complete scared the dog, it was so incredibly loud. I realised the little soundbar had some kick in its bass after all. But, then it happened. There was an audible "click", like a metal switch being thrown. And then this crackling noise came out of the new speakers. I couldn't find a remote fast enough to make it stop, and and ended up pulling the power and the rc cable from the speaker to make it stop. I wasn't sure what had happened, I turned the whole system off; the TV, cable, the sound bar, everything was off. Then after about 20 seconds I turned the TV back on again. Then hit the "on" button on the soundbar remote. No horrible sound showed up this time. But then I realized there was also no audio for the TV at all. Not even from the buzzy onboard speakers from before I hooked up the sound bar. I went back and checked the soundbar, to see if it was a blown speaker. I didn't think so. I'm surprised that it didn't tear up the speaker, it was so loud so horrible, the noise that came out of that brand new soundbar, but the TV also didn't have sound from the onboard speakers. And that's when I went looking online for some reason to explain why there was no longer sound to my TV or the speakers that I just bought. So I did more research online. I was still convinced it was a setting in the TV, but after having no luck changing any that looked like they needed to be changed, I decided to use the optical cable, instead of the OG rc one. And I was able to get sound back, I could watch my TV again and I was so happy! Then I tried the apps again. And there was a new sound more horrible than the one before, (if that's even possible.) And I was sure that all the speakers that had access to that sound, were destroyed. Then I remembered the AI result for my googling "why the hell doesn't my TV have sound, Google?" And it was the PCM (pulse code modulation) setting on the TV audio that had to be set. That was the entire issue, the entire time, with the entire system, from the beginning. So, now not only do I have a very inexpensive sound bar system that works beautifully, there's no more buzzing on my TV, but, I can still use the volume on my television via the TV remote or the one the isp gave me. And Having 2 volumes for the same set of sounds actually gives me this sound quality like I'm sitting somewhere near the front row of an actual movie theater. (It's not an actual EQ, ofc but for less than $100 for the sound bar, I'm pretty okay with it.) I got a second one of these, to add to my gaming pc. But I don't plan to have the same story on the setup for it. At least, I hope not XD 😭✨😎 ... show more

  • Love the sound, don’t like the issues
These sound great but there’s other issues. It connects to the TV fine, but does not override or interact with the TV’s own speakers. I mute the TV and use these speakers, but my kids are too lazy to use two remotes and the TV speakers working in tandem with the ones created a near echo effect. If everyone’s aware to only use the speakers alone and not the TV volume, it’s great. I’d buy them again, but I wouldn’t put them on my kids’ TV’s. ... show more
