These really are as good as advertised, much to my surprise.
I've been hearing ads for this pillow on TV and radio for years now. I don't normally buy "infomercial" stuff though, and I thought the claims on this had to be too good to be true. But no, I was actually wrong. I finally broke down and got one because I have to wear a CPAP mask now for sleep apnea, and I was trying to find anything to make the night go better. I've used MyPillow for a number of nights now, and these are everything they say they are. In fact, right after I got the pillow I let my wife try it, and she liked it so much she stole it for her afternoon nap. I wasn't even the first one to get to use my own pillow! So that's why I'm back on amazon... I'm buying another for her, and figured I might as well write a review. MY OPINION ABOUT ALL THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS I was almost afraid to buy this because of all the negative reviews, but I'm glad I did. While I'm sure some of the negative reviews truly are reasonable and just based on preference, many are dumb. Let me take some of the common ones: 1. "Pillow is flat." Yes, they come that way, and it specifically says on the wrapping to put them in the dryer for 15 minutes minimum before using. The heat makes the foam expand, and fluffs them up. So this is a "failure to follow directions" complaint. Or else, they bought the wrong product. The "Yellow" (least firm), and "White" (next least firm) pillow models are designed to be pretty flat so that stomach sleepers or small women/children can use them. You want a super big, puffy pillow? You should be buying "Green" or "Blue." 2. "Pillow is lumpy." Yes, but not in a bad way AT ALL. The pillow is made of three different sizes of foam pieces. Rub the pillow together between your fingers, and you will feel unevenness, because you might be feeling a small piece one instant, and a larger piece the next. Again, this is by design. When you actually lay on it, you don't feel lumps on your face. The foam pieces give and even out, and it just feels like a smooth super soft cushion. I think most people complaining it is "lumpy" probably felt it out of the box, decided that since it feels uneven they were just going to return it, and probably didn't actually try sleeping on it. This is NOT a hard lumpy pillow by ANY stretch of the imagination. 3. "I got a fake, because [insert your reason here]." These comments are just dumb. Look who the seller is on this page. It's "MyPillow Inc." It's not some third party. They send pillows to Amazon from their factory and Amazon sells them. Just like when you buy MyPillow in any other store. You are not getting a Chinese fake. 4. "The pillow is not supportive." Well, this again is probably due to a failure to follow directions or order the right product. It could be not supportive because someone didn't follow directions and put it in the dryer to fluff it up. Or, it might be that they didn't do their research on the MyPillow site and make sure they got the right "color" of pillow. Each of the different colors represents a different level of fill, or firmness. Here's a rule of thumb: if you are a child or small person who is a stomach sleeper, get Yellow, the least firm. If you are a stomach sleeper or back sleeper, White, the next most firm, is probably what you want (this is what I use as a primary stomach sleeper and secondary back sleeper, but it will most likely NOT provide you proper support if you are side sleeper, particularly if you are a 250 lb broad shouldered guy like me and try to sleep on your side). If you are a larger back sleeper or a regular sized side sleeper, get Green, the next most firm. And if you are a large person who is a side sleeper, get blue, the most firm. If you try to sleep on your side and get yellow or white, for example, you are GOING to wake up with neck pain due to lack of support, because you didn't get a firm enough pillow. 5. "This isn't the same pillow I saw at [insert person's house]." Possibly it isn't, but it's very close. This pillow is the "classic" model. You can only find it here and in some stores... the MyPillow website only sells "Premium." There's really only one minor difference between premium and classic: premium has a "gusset", and classic doesn't. A "gusset" is an extra strip of fabric between the two halves of the pillow, rather than just sewing the two halves of the pillow directly together, as the classic model does. In theory, this might be useful in a very firm pillow for shaping purposes, but it doesn't seem essential. Otherwise, they are basically the same, using the same foam, same size of pieces, and same color system. I have a "White" pillow in the classic style, and I love it. I have no need of a gusset, it's great just the way it is. I hope this dispels some of the bad information on here. I didn't start out to be such a fan, but I love this product, and if you spend the time making sure you get the right color for yourself, and follow directions when you get it, you will probably love it also. ... show more

I AM STILL IN DISBELIEF!
Let me start by saying I did not receive this product free or even for a discount in exchange for my honest review. I paid for it on Prime Day. Also should say I am a complete skeptic when it comes to products that make big claims. I've been seeing the commercial for this pillow a long time now. Every single time I would see it, I'd think, yeah, right. And then I'd think, well, you've tried everything else, might as well give it shot. I just never pulled the trigger. I've spent as much as $130 on a single pillow. So, I'm not sure why I hesitated so long. I've been chasing relaxation and a good night's sleep since I was 19. (I will not say how long ago that was...suffice it to say, it was not yesterday.) I am an extremely tense person. I carry all my tension in my neck and shoulders. So tense I've been refused a deep tissue massage because as the masseuse said, "I cannot do that to you, it would kill you. Your muscles are way too tight and full of knots. It would be too painful." So, we now have 2 things I've tried, several different pillows from $20 all the way to $130, and massage. Those didn't work. Also tried meditation, and some aromatherapy spritz stuff you spray on your pillow to induce relaxation and sleep, that was desperate. The husband bought me some relaxation CD's with some woman talking all calm and smooth telling me to go to my happy place. Got a sound machine, tried rain, that only sent me to the bathroom all night. Tried white noise, that just sounds like TV after the National Anthem (that gave away my round about age, didn't it?) Or maybe like, "They're Here". Which does not exactly induce sweet dreams. Hate to say, but, I've even tried medication. Nothing worked. Everyone close to me is constantly telling me, "you just need to relax". Well, thank you, Mr. Obvious! If I knew how to do that, I would have done it years ago. So, I'm not just perpetually tense, I'm tense to the point that other people notice. I am in constant pain from my neck and shoulders. I battle with myself all day long. I'll catch myself with my shoulders up around my ears and I tell myself, relax!! Put, your shoulders down. And I will, for about a hot minute. And then I'll do it again, then tell my self again, then do it again, you get the point... After all these years of this, I now have back pain too - maybe from years of other muscles having to overcompensate for something? So, a lot of times, I find myself winding up trying to sleep downstairs on the couch to keep my restlessness from waking the husband. So, when I decided, what the heck on Prime Day and ordered the My Pillow, I got the standard size. A king would just hang off the couch too much. And it might be pain to keep it from falling off. So, the My Pillow gets here. it seems flat and really lumpy. So, my skepticism is reinforced. But, I forge ahead, I have already spent the money. I put it in the dryer for 15 minutes like it said. It comes out of the dryer WAY poofy. Now, I'm thinking this is going to kill my neck, it's way too thick. And by the way, it still feels really lumpy. But, still, again, I have to try it at this point. So, I lay down and put my head on this pillow, and I kid you not, I LITERALLY felt all the tension in my neck and shoulders drain away. I couldn't believe It! A little bit later my husband comes in and condescendingly says, "So, let me see see this magic pillow". So, I throw it to him. First thing he says is, "How much did you pay for this? It's so lumpy!" - "I don't care. It's the best thing ever." - "Whatever." - "Try it" So, he puts it behind his head while he's sitting up in his big wingback chair. "OMG (he didn't say the letters, I abbreviated), I'm taking this." - "Um, no you are not". "I'm gonna fall asleep right here" - "Um, no, you are not." - "My pillows suck." - "Um, yes, they do." So, 2 king size are already ordered. I only have to protect this one for 5 days until he gets his. Only problem now is, what do I do when I travel? I can get the roll and go ones, that I have already researched. Or I can take an extra piece of luggage just to hold the pillow. Or I could just drag it through all the airports like Linus does his blanket. I will figure something out, because I am not going anywhere with out MY My Pillow! ... show more

Light and Comfortable!
After doing a lot of research, reading tons of reviews and having some major pillow fails, I finally decided to purchase this pillow and I'm so glad I did. The pillow is extremely light and easily fluffs up to adjust to your comfort level. It's not hot at all which will be extremely beneficial when the temperature gets hotter. I also like the idea that I can wash this pillow. This is the first pillow I've bought for comfort that I could actually do that. I wake up multiple times during the night. I was really hoping this pillow would prevent that from happening, but unfortunately it didn't. I do like that I can fluff the pillow up in the middle of the night if it flattens out somewhat. I get a lot of neck aches so I was really hoping to find something to alleviate that pain. This hasn't completely relieved the pain, but again, can be easily adjusted so if I feel some discomfort, I can easily adjust the filling until I find the right position/fluff to support my neck and cradle my head. I would have given this 5 stars if it would have relieved my neck pain or allowed me to sleep through the night. This pillow is a bit pricey so I had extremely high expectations. the good ol' US of A
This is the first review I ever bothered with on Amazon, although I live and die by other reviews. First and foremost, when my husband and I saw this infomercial we laughed and joked "my pillow, no MY pillow.." but after the 4th commercial during a race we were watching, we started paying a little closer attention to what was being said. First attention getter..it's made in America...the good ol' US of A! We go out of our way to purchase from companies that are still here. Then I started listening to the founder and him explaining that he had some neck and shoulder issues and strived for 4 years to create a pillow for himself that would actually work. I have 3 herniated discs in my neck and have shoulder pain related to it. Often times I also get headaches and usually always woke up with a dull headache. My husband and I just got a new bed and he was having difficulty getting comfortable, which has never been a problem for him. He was commenting that the pillows he had were really uncomfortable, which wasn't a problem till our new bed. In fact, we both have very expensive pillows (more than this one cost). They were running a special on tv where you buy one, you get one free. Granted they were $99.00 a piece, but that dropped it to just the $99.00 for two. These also have a lifetime warranty and a 90 day trial period with your money back if you don't like it. Now, I am a very difficult sleeper. I have 6 pillows in total that I have to sleep with, but the most important one is for my head. I would usually wake up 4 times (at least) a night to switch out two different pillows for my neck. One was a contour pillow and the other is a Sobel Westex (this is the pillow I commented earlier that was way more expensive than this pillow). I would wake up, my neck hurting, my shoulders hurting, and at times usually a dull headache. The first night my husband and I tried this, we both loved it! I didn't think I'd like it because it's not a traditional pillow, smooth inside, but rather small pieces of foam. I can honestly say, you can't even tell the difference once you lay down on this pillow. You lay on it, fluff it to where you want, and it stays that way till you change it. The first night I slept on it, I slept the whole night. That, in itself, was a miracle since I usually only get a few hours sleep a night. I have NOT woken up with any neck or shoulder pain or dull headaches for the 6 nights I've slept on it. My husband also said that his is really great and was glad we invested in something that is so critical to your life. So, for Christmas, I also purchased another one for my dad who has a lot of problems with his neck, shoulders and back. Hopefully it will work just as great for him as it has for me. Worst pillow ever
I was so excited to get a My Pillow but boy am I disappointed. My Pillow literally looks like a pillow a toddler constructed. I don't get it were are all the good reviews coming from. This is the worst product, I promise you if you go to Walmart & buy one of there $2.99 pillows you'll be getting a far superior pillow. I have used memory foam pillows before from Sam's club that were way better than these, I have also bought those bamboo pillows for my son which are amazing. Don't waste your time or money with my pillow it's horrible, it's so horrible I can't even describe the pillow. The pillow is like an over sized sack filled with shredded up foam blocks that your head immediately sinks down into and not into a comfortable way. If sort of feels like a bean bag chair after you have it a year and all the beans are flat. It's a shame the pillow isn't half as good as the commercial. Update:. I have tried reaching out to the company calling there customer service is a joke you wait on hold 45 minutes listening to amazing grace on a loop than get disconnected, it's extremely aggravating. I am now trying to communicate with them through email. My pillow is the company from HE double hockey sticks. ... show more

Finally
Bought this for my husband. I call him the original “Princess and the Pea.” Tried SO many different pillows and mattresses (waterbed, toppers, gel, memory foam, etc.). So expensive trying to get him comfortable. FINALLY, got him a Personal Comfort sleep-number style matress on Amazon and he stopped complaining, except for his pillow. After spending a ton on pillows - down, curved, shaped, foam, firm, soft, etc., I finally splurged and bought this one. And he loves it! Finally. Now we can both get some sleep. Added after using this a few months: After a few months this pillow started causing problems with my husband’s sleep because it was getting lumpy and the shape no longer made sense. Like so many things in life, it seemed so good at first. My husband complained it kept him awake, and kept me awake because he no longer trusted it to get a good night’s sleep with it. Made in America, this is not a cheap pillow.
Bought this pillow out of necessity since my old one was torn (and to be quite frank, rather foul in appearance due to being more than twice as old as my dog, who is 42 in dog years). A friend recommended this one so I decided to take the ~$40 gamble rather than give in to the temptation of just grabbing something cheap. My own mother was aghast at the price, exclaiming that pillows were 2 for $10 at Target... to which I replied, well... this one's made in America, always a plus, and hopefully this isn't a $5 pillow. I've had it for a couple days and so far so good. It does appear to be standard size and fits in a regular pillow case as expected. I definitely raised an eyebrow when I first opened the package, as other reviewers have noted, it does arrive looking a bit flat and under-filled, however, as per the included instructions, 15-20 minutes in the dryer resolved that and it fluffed out to a normal size. From a comfort perspective, I didn't find this to be some ingenious product that astounded me with some new level of comfort previously unknown to me, nor was I expecting as such, but this pillow meets my needs: quite comfortable and good enough for a good night's sleep. I don't have any sleep problems normally so I can't speak to how this will feel if you have any neck pain, snoring issues, etc. I'm mostly a side-sleeper and I got the version that has the "medium" fill, standard/queen size, I'm 5'11", 185 lbs, and it seemed fine for my type of sleeping pattern. More than one other reviewer said that the fill made audible and irritating noises when they shifted their head in the night, but I did not experience this (maybe they previously had a down fill pillow so it is comparatively loud?). So why buy this for around $40 when you can get 2 for $10 at Target? 1. Made in America, feels at least a little good knowing that, even if you really don't care that much; 2. Machine washable - many pillows are, allegedly, but my last pillow came apart after just a few washes --on the delicate cycle, mind you---, so we'll see how this one does, I haven't washed it yet; 3. Doesn't feel like a cheap $5 pillow, both from a manufacturing quality perspective and a comfort perspective. It's your head, you do as you please with it, but my head goes on this thing every night so I don't find the investment of $40 to be unreasonable, especially if the pillow lasts through the 10 year warranty period. A quick word about reviews: I have heard that people are "review bombing" this product because of the political and religious affiliations of the owner of the company (and I can't say if such affiliations are real or merely perceived by certain folk). I suspect that may be true to a degree based solely on the number of 1 star reviews, though I can't be sure. I did not have the negative experiences that some described in their reviews, so if you are on the fence but have heard good things from people you trust, you might want to give this a try and take the negative reviews with a grain of salt. It is a pillow, after all, so we know individual experiences will vary drastically. Just to be clear, I give a 5 star rating for products that meet my expectations and that I would recommend, so basically 5 stars is default for a good product and I subtract stars if things aren't quite right. I will never own any other kind of pillow again!
This is absolutely the best pillow I have ever owned! I have used a memory foam pillow for years as it was all that I could use to keep from having a headache. I've had cheap pillows and expensive pillows and that was the only one that would work for me. My husband has neck problems and we've been through the same thing trying to find one that would work for him. Our chiropractor sells a "Chiro" pillow that is a water pillow. You put water in it and it's supposed to help conform to your individual needs. They are highly recommended by the Chiropractic Association. It was very expensive...more so than the MyPillow pillows. The very first night he used it he threw it at me in the bed. He couldn't use it. We tried different amounts of water (as recommended) to see if that would help...it didn't. I tried it and I couldn't use it either. We've been seeing the MyPillow commercials for several months now, but we just didn't feel we should spend that much on yet another pillow. One of the local department stores in our area got some and when I saw them advertised I decided to go by the store and pick one up for him. I had visited the MyPillow website and learned how to determine which size to get. Luckily, that was the pillow the department store was selling. I bought it for him, and after the first night on it he told me he would never use any other pillow ever again. On Saturday mornings he lets me sleep in and he gets up to let our dogs outside. The first Saturday after we got him the MyPillow, I switched pillows to try it out. I went back to sleep and in a deep sleep. I couldn't believe how comfortable it was. I kept thinking I needed to break down and spend the money on one for me. Finally I looked on Amazon to see the prices here. They also had the size I needed (which is a little smaller than my husband's). The first night I had it my husband said I snuggled up on it and went out like a light. I honestly don't think I woke up once during the night. Now I also say I will never own any other pillow again. The fact that it has a 10-year warranty just adds to the value of it. We are actually considering ordering one of the mattress toppers (we currently use one that is only a year and half old). This will have to wait a year or two, though. I can't imagine why anyone would say these pillows aren't comfortable. I haven't washed it yet, but probably will next month. If for some reason the results are not good I will come back and update this review. For now I am very, very happy! ... show more
