It is an excellent transition to a cup. It only leaks if my child slams it to the floor like he did his bottles- so totally expected. But no spills while he is drinking from it or in his bag. It doesn’t have any grip to it and he would be able to hold it better if their was a silicone grip but again, it is a transition phase so regular cups are sleek just like this do not an issue or deal breaker at all. ... show more

My child loves this cup is is leak proof except if she throws it and it leaks a little upon impact but then it stops it’s easy to clean middle part pops out and it all goes in the dishwasher.

You can hold it upside down and it doesn’t leak. They can drink out of it as easily as anything else. This cup was recommend by the dentist because apparently the spout cups mess up their teeth. So she said this or a straw cup. My 6T sized toddler sometimes throws this cup as hard as possible which causes it to leak. It does not leak under normal use or accidentally dropping it. There was one brand of spout cup that he could not leak by throwing it, but most of those he could throw hard enough to knock out the insert, as a comparison for how this holds up. ... show more

I’ve been buying these for 2 years. I love munchkin brand cups. My son loves all their designs: animals, color changing, space, etc. however the top spout is difficult to clean and molds easily. I don’t have a dishwasher, maybe they would be easier for that.

We absolutely love munchkin cups. My child has so happy to have ones with designs of her favorite animals. They're pretty leak proof unless tossed on a hard surfaces, then there is an initial leak on impact but that's to be expected.
