I really like having these belts for skiing. They keep the strain off my lower back and I feel that they prevent injuries. The only down-side is that they will usually last only a season. Two things happen: (1) from bending and getting on and off the chair lifts, they get bent like an accordion and lose some of their effectiveness. and (2) the Velcro wears out and eventually won't hold when you pull the belt tight. I really like the feel when you pull the tightening strap tight. The cost is so reasonable (12 to 17 dollars) that it's worth it to just keep getting new ones at the beginning of each ski season.

I love this belt! The price was much lower than others advertised. My back bothers me when I am wallking so I take this with me whevever I go.I thighten it up and off I go! It even fits well over bulky sweaters and coats.

I wish they came in a larger size also. The ring-pull adjustment for the strings arrangement works well, also allowing for variation from vertical. I had found one locally in store, and used it occasionally with good result. So, when I found myself needing to use such an item every day for a while, I went online. After comparison, I clearly chose this! The velcro closure is fine so far. Since I'm not a small girl (oops) and I'm using the brace for hips instead of waist, I really do need an extender, thus wishing for the larger size. I have managed to find a chuck of elastic with velcro at the other end... and it holds up well as an insert/extender. Again, the ring-pull allows for adjustment without too many extra opening and closing of the velcro of either portion. The main body of the brace will not remain totally stiff vertically after frequent use, but it is going to be structurally sound horizontally. PS -- I also use it as a way to hold an icepack in place.

For starters this is a great product. I had a neoprene back support product and it's just ok. This is heavy duty. There are two pieces that are attached at the back by string cords that are durable. The front is a hook and loop closure. The magic they don't show is the back has two strong upright sections made more durable my plastic. The ring looking object that the picture has pulling is tightening the cords that intertwine at the back. It gives instant support and relief. I love this thing. Once the front is attached just tighten away and make it as tight or as loose as you want it. You can reset super easy. It's not super wide so if you want a full cover you might want a different brand. Also since it's not neoprene it's not going to heat up stomach and cause sweating. I advise to wear over an under shirt but beneath a loose fitting shirt and maybe loose sweater. Nobody will know you are wearing it.

This helps a lot with my lower back pain. the adjustable strap is really nice if i want some extra compression. so it works and is really nice. now for the bad - its a fairly hard piece of material, with hard molded plastic in the back. sometimes its not comfortable to wear, especially if you have to bend over to pick something up off the ground. also not comfortable (but doable) to sit with. i had another mueller support, it was all elastic and very comfortable to wear. the problem with that one is that it eventually wore out where the velcro attaches/reattaches to the siding. this one will probably last longer because of the way it was designed with the adjustable strap.

For 2 months I was dealing with my slightly strained back that would get better for a few days , but then alternate with a day of stiffness and pain. Decided to try this brace and it's great! I just wear it on days when I'm walking more than an hour without a break. The one handed adjustment is genius! Very easy to adjust! The use of Velcro makes for a comfortable fit.It does stay warm around your middle, but that should be expected with a product providing this level of support. Has saved me from going to the doctor ,greatly reduced the amount of ibuprofen I was taking, and no more icing!! I continue to do back exercises and stretches daily, and look forward to the day when this brace will no longer be needed.

I've used these on patients with instability of the lumbar spine and acute disc herniation. It provides instant relief. The size will fit 8- percent of the population. I do wish they would make an XXL version and a small version, but I'm sure the market is limited in that area. Cannot beat the price and it works better than the more expensive versions. Comfort is one of the better supports I've tried in my 13 years of practice.

Have ordered more back support belts than I would like to admit. This one is the best , by far, than any of the others. Supports and is so comfortable. So easy to adjust and actually fits my thicker middle because of the pull cord releasing. I would have given it a 5 Star but the minute you sit, it rides up again and the you must adjust again. This is not a support for sitting but FANTASTIC for walking .

This is a great back support! Mainly because it has the great draw-string adjustment that makes it super easy to tighten or loosen quickly. It seems to be made very well and seems to be super durable. I have only had it for about a month and a half, but still seems like new even tho I m constantly adjusting it to meet my changing needs. It is pretty stiff so it is not very comfortable for bending over, but if you have a bad back like mine, you shouldn't be doing that anyway. I also have to loosen it when I am sitting on a soft surface like a couch or it digs in, but that is why I love how easily it can be adjusted. I am much happier with it than I expected. It is a great value too.

The fit was OK for me (40"-42" waist). It alleviates my lower back pain somewhat (but does not eliminate it completely). The sides are stiff enough that it is a bit uncomfortable, especially in situations like sitting on a soft couch (which probably doesn't help my lower back pain to begin with). Causes some perspiration when I wear it for more than an hour or so, even indoors in A/C. Another reviewer noted this probably isn't something you should wear long-term -- better to try to develop the stabilizing core muscles. I'd have to agree with this, but I still use this several times a week just to take the edge off the pain.

This is a great back brace. The one hand adjustable option is the best. I have used several different back braces and they can be a pain to adjust. If I am wearing it under my shirt, I have to actually go somewhere private to loosen or adjust, but with this is so easy.. The only reason I gave it a 4 is because I wish it was just a bit taller. I feel like even just a couple of inches taller would give much more support.
