  • Great rope, worth the spend
Style: Single Pack
I've got several of these Muddy lines on the farm, some for three years or so, and they do the job. Several things I like about them, including the fact that they've got two Prussic knots, so you can climb up attached to the tree linesman-style and then pull your bow or gun up on the same rope. I like the reflective threading, which is helpful looking for your stand of a cold, dark morning in the woods (you can see it from way far away), and I appreciate the sturdiness of the rope. That gives you confidence, but it's almost TOO stiff, as when it freezes it gets pretty hard to manipulate. The Prussic rope I can compare it to directly is the Millennium rope that comes with their tree stands. I'd say the Millennium rope is more limber and easy to manipulate, but my guess is the Muddy will last longer. I also have a Hunter Safety Systems rope that's pretty similar. I buy my own sturdy Muddy or HSS carabiners to attach gear and myself to, and the older I get the more secure I feel attaching to a rope climbing up and down, Used to never tie off but these days, at 60, I'm more comfortable doing so. I also like that it doesn't have the rubber "bell" over the bottom loop, as does my HSS, which can be a PITA on frozen mornings. All in all, a quality rope worth the money and safe as heck. ... show more

  • Safety first
Style: Single Pack
I never used a life line until this year. I'm 76 yrs old and always climbed my ladder stand with no problem. This year my ladder stand is 20 ft high and i started now feeling safe enough climbing 2 feet higher compared to my old 18 ft stand. With this safety line I'm more comfortable about climbing without falling. I fell off my 18 ft ladder stand about half way up and landed on my back. Luckily I wasn't seriously hurt. YES, I RECOMMEND this safety rope. NO MATTER HOW OLD YOU ARE, falling from a ladder stand is dangerous. Have a friend that fell off of her ladder stand and broke both her ankles this year, 2024. So people put your trust in a safety line if you climb a ladder stand. ... show more

  • Easy to install and work great
Style: Single Pack
I bought two of these for a two-man stree stand. They are easy to install and work great. There are two secure loops on the static line. Be sure to put a high-quality carabiner on the loops and you’ll be in great shape. Better quality and cheaper than other name brands.

  • Good with the new design, but beware the new huge safety risk
Style: Single Pack
I saw lots of reviews about the prussic knots being too loose. I suspect there was an old vs new knot design. The old one had the loose ends all sealed up in shrink tube. The new design has a knot and tails exposed, and the tails held together with a metal clip. See my pictures. HOWEVER, I have a safety concern because someone could mistakenly clip a carabiner into the line BETWEEN the knot and clip. HUGE MISTAKE is possible doing that. My wife actually did, but I caught it before she climbed. That could be a FATAL mistake as the metal clip will not hold your weight. My FIRST picture shows the carabiner in the CORRECT spot. My SECOND picture show the WRONG place to clip in. I got one of the newer designed knots and I am VERY happy that they are more snug. They were very loose at first, but I just give them a few quick jerks to set them on the rope. Then lean some body weight into them to really get the knots to initially tighten up. After that, you should be good. I can sit in my tree for hours and the knot stays right where I put it above my head the whole time. I climb up and down my ladder, and the knots stay right where I put them every time. I’d be a little happier if the prussic knot rope was a little thicker. It’s so much thinner that the main line that I wonder how much weight its rated for. Also, I wonder if there is any risk that friction over time will wear on the thinner line. Time will tell. It definitely holds my 250lb weight with no problem at this point. I’m pretty happy at this point. BUT use great CAUTION about where you clip in so you are correctly protected from a fall. ... show more

  • Well worth the money
Style: Single Pack
Can't put a price on your life. I never used a saftey line in my young hunting life, but the very first time I used one of these it saved my life. Will never hang or climb up to a stand without one again. It does make Climbing up and down a little more difficult, but the feeling of security makes it totally worth it. I have 6 of these muddy saftey lines and have had a few of them for two seasons and they show no signs of wear or damage. I leave them out year round and they still seem like new. Very highly recommend. ... show more
