I have a bunch of Case-Gard products and they are all GREAT. I have some in the garage for tools, i.e. I have a cordless router with all of the accessories in one box. When I need to go do a job I can grab the box marked cordless router and I know everything is in the box. I also have 1 in each vehicle as an emergency preparedness kit. 1st Aid, some bottles of water, protein bars, emergency blankets, poncho liner, etc. I haven't had any issues with water penetration, but they are in a garage, house or vehicle. They stay locked when you lock them, I have NEVER had on pop open before. I like that they are stackable, it makes for easy storage with the tools as mentioned above. Different sizes for different tools. They are strong as well, they are a good hasty step stool and a great seat when stacked 2 high. I have also used them as a make shift work bench. Use an old interior door and stack them 3 high, again when I take my tools to a work site, it makes a nice portable work bench for lite work. I have a smaller version of this ammo crate and ordered this one to store bigger items - not ammunition. This case has multiple uses, and I'm very happy with it. These cases are very sturdy. I was dismayed by finding I will have to get different locks should I ever decide I wanted to lock up this case. You need a smaller width on your locks. I had a couple of locks around that didn't work - they were too big to fit through the holes. This isn't a show-stopper for me. I don't use this case to hold ammunition. I use it to hold emergency supplies for my vehicle. Since it is locked in my trunk, I don't need locks. Just be aware of this limitation if that is important to you. This easily holds my emergency gear in one convenient place. Otherwise, very satisfied with this product. ... show more

I love these cases for ammo storage and transport. If you fill them up with shotshells you better bring help to carry it, LOL. I have an open back truck and this is the only way to carry ammo and gear. I put my eye and ear pro in there along with my shooting vest and enough rounds to hit the clays course. I have forgotten about it for weeks and everything bone dry after rain, morning dew, etc. Easy to hose off if it get mudded up in the back of the side by side and they stack great. ... show more

    • Bigger than you think...perfect size
These were larger than I expected and that's a good thing. Now I was able to separate my ammo by caliber and manufacturer,at least my 9mm. I had gotten the acr7-18 earlier and couldn't get half of my 9mm into it so ordered 2 of these expecting them to be just a fraction larger but they were twice the size. I wouldn't dream of filling these containers since I wouldn't be able to lift them. Put 9,000 rds of .22lr in one and 2500 rds of 9mm in each of the other 2 and that's all I want to lift. Note: I'm getting old. These are great containers and very sturdy. I stacked all 3 units and they stacked perfectly. Highly recommend ... show more

I ordered two of these to store some boxes of ammo that I thought I would be using for target practice, and maybe some hunting over the past few years, but never did due to unforeseen family circumstances. Next time I will evaluate the dimensions a little bit better because this is a good sized container! I could have easily got by with one, but the second will come in handy for something I imagine. These containers are fairly large inside. To give you an idea........if you are familiar with the "Value Pack Remington Golden Bullet" rectangular box of 525 loose rounds, I guesstimate this case would hold 32 of those boxes. To save you doing the math that comes out to 16,800 rounds of .22 ammo. Far more in weight than the case is rated for, which is anywhere from 70 to 90 pounds depending on which website you check. Having said that........it is still molded plastic which is not all that expensive to produce. It's kind of sturdy, kind of durable looking, you have to work at it a bit to get the lid to close. Not bad overall, but not deserving a 5 Star rating. One of the cases came with a small cut on the bottom outside corner. The cut was not deep enough to warrant a return, but worth mentioning since the Amazon shipping cardboard had no marks. All in all, with my somewhat limited experience in buying items of this nature, I would fully recommend this container. If you want something more study I guess a metal ammo can is the next best option. ... show more

I've got 2 different sizes of these and several of them! Love these crates! By themselves they are fairly light but can hold quite a bit of weight and stacking them is fantastic with the interlocking channels. 2 flip style tabs lock the lid down securely and the rubber gasket gives peace of mind for waterproofing and at least relatively good airtightness for long term storage of food, ammo or whatever you can fit in them. And then you've got 2 handles for easy lifting, carrying, moving just to put the cherry on the sundae. Can't say enough good things about these. Find myself wishing I had more stuff to put in them to justify buying more! lol For the purchase price I just don't think they can be beat. ... show more
