Firstly the laptop is fantastic. the screen is gorgeous with no backlight bleed. its also nice and sharp. build construction is also really good. the 5080 is a beast of a gpu. I picked this one because it was to be the successor to my GL75 leopard. also from msi. if I had a complaint it would be that it came with 2 1tb ssd instead of one 2tb sdd. it annoyed me a bit that both m.2 slots were full. also one was supposed to be a Samsung drive that samsung magician wasn't able to identify. I doubt the seller had a hand in this because the box was factory sealed. I would have picked stars but I planned in replacing the adding an second ssd when it arrived. I ended up replacing the included ssds. it was produced in Octoberof 2025. so I would guess this to be some AI related shenanigans. I recently upgraded my old Acer Predator to the MSI Vector 16, hoping for a smoother, low-maintenance experience with updated tech. I don't play that many games, so I was looking for something solid that wouldn't give me constant headaches. Unfortunately, after just one day of using the MSI Vector 16, I started running into issues. The laptop would freeze within a minute of startup, then crash to a black screen. The only software I had uploaded was Brave Browser, Chrome, Webroot Anti-virus, Office365, Steam, World of Tanks, and Star Trek Fleet Command—it was clear that the laptop was not being overworked. The system should’ve been able to handle that easily. A quick Google search revealed that MSI has a history of similar issues with their laptops, which was a big red flag. I reached out to MSI support, but their AI-driven support system was unhelpful, only offering basic troubleshooting steps (like ensuring the power cord was plugged in). This was extremely frustrating since I purchased this laptop to avoid endless hours of troubleshooting. The entire experience was disappointing, and I quickly realized I purchased a laptop that would require endless hours of diagnosing and problem solving, leaving me little time to actually enjoy the games I do play. This was my first MSI laptop, and it will definitely be my last. If you’re considering purchasing the MSI Vector 16, I sincerely hope you have better luck than I did. Absolutely terrible experience. Got it unboxed, plugged in, and turned on. Downloaded steam and tried to download a single game. The laptop would freeze within 30min of it being on.     • CHARGER CABLE BROKE after a month and they wouldn't replace it.

DO NOT BUY THIS LAPTOP. The charger cable is terribly constructed and started to not be recognized by the laptop after only a month. Something got pinched because the laptop cable is SO SHORT it doesn't reach the floor, forcing you to keep the whole charger and block on the desk/table and sitting right next to an outlet. I got on customer support and they wanted me to send in the entire laptop and charger cable so their techs can look at it, rather than just replacing the charger cable. SUCH an expensive laptop with only decent graphics and speed that gets VERY hot if you are playing a modern game on normal graphics, and it's basically a desktop after a month because I can't move the charger cable at all without the computer constantly failing to recognize the charger. ... show more
