I got the gf63-9sc-066 with 16gb ram and it runs Destiny 2 with no problem. I think if your looking for a more affordable gaming laptop, this is the one. The laptop itself is great. However, mine had a minor issue with the trackpad not working right after taking the computer out of the box. I bought it from a US seller, but I live in Japan (Hokkaido), so I was extremely concerned. The seller was very supportive and gave me all the necessary information about the guarantee and how to proceed with MSI international service (located in Tokyo). They fixed the issue in a few days free of charge. I cannot recommend the seller enough, and you can rest assured you will have amazing international service if anything comes up while on guarantee :) ... show more

I'm really glad I ended up getting this, it's perfect for my little games and it's really nice and customizable, it's got a great cooling fan and is really smooth the only issue I'd say is space but you can easily fix that yourself. I liked how it had like over 300 FPS on league of legends and I bought it for $800 on sale. The only issue I have and every device works fine besides this one and the ms spikes a ton when it’s plugged in and I’ve tried everything, looked into the battery settings as well. Makes no sense. Ok so let me start by saying I only bought this because of the cyber Monday deal they had, was essentially $800 to my door with a GTX1650 and 16mb ram. So my last rig was a 15” Razer Blade that was my absolute favorite. The build quality and overall presentation of that over this one is quite noticeable. HOWEVER...after updates, configuring fans and speeds this thing has played both Rust and Borderlands 3 without a bit of lag and also noticeably quieter fans. It does get warm but doesn’t seem any worse then any other laptop. So if you can get a deal on it, go for it. Not sure I’d pay full price but so far this thing is kicking butt. ... show more

    • Good for a year, then crashing with Windows repair loop

PROS: Great value for mid-range gaming, especially MMOs like SWTOR and Guild Wars 2; runs very quiet and doesn't come pre-packaged with tons of bloatware; a decent mix of peripheral slots 3 USB, 1 USB-C, 1 HDMI; light for a gaming laptop. CONS: Due to the design (heatsink/GPU placement), runs VERY hot above the function keys during gaming. Regular non-gaming use is not an issue. This can be mitigated with a cooling pad, but I do not recommend closing the lid for hours on end (for example, if you are using an external monitor) as the heat will likely warp your screen over time. FOLLOW-UP (9/5/2021): I changed my review from 4 stars to 1. The reason? The problem that I listed in CONS became a deal breaker after about a year. The laptop now overheats and will crash after gaming for more than 10 hours. Then it goes into a Windows repair loop because the GPU is freaking out. I think at this point, I have about a few weeks before the card is permanently fried. Poor, unsustainable design. Will never buy MSI again. ... show more
