  • Great Gaming Motherboard
Paired with an Ryzen 5 5600X, XFX Speedster QICK Radeon RX 6700 XT, Corsair CX650M, Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200MHz. Pros: This motherboard is great. Has all of the BIOS features that you could ever want and then some. With just a few quick clicks easily & safely overclock your RAM & CPU. For RAM it has preconfigured Intel XMP which also works with AMD with no extra tweaking necessary. Easily and safely overclock your memory with MSI exclusive Memory Force & Memory Try It! Also has advanced features to allow access for AMD Smart Access Memory. Easily adjust all your fan speeds with automatic power curves with PWM or DC. I could go on forever. But suffice it to say if you can find it at or under $150, get it. I promise you won't be dissatisfied. Cons: Evidently the price is currently on Amazon is $225 while the MSRP for this particular board is only like $156 or somewhere around there. That's what I paid for it. I would definitely not pay $225 for this board. While this board is really great it's not worth over $200. ... show more

  • Best mATX B550 board in market with overkill VRMs which is good
This is best mATX mobo in the market in terms of quality and performance. VRMs are great that you can increase your switching frequency to even 800 kHz and it will do it but don't do it unless you are putting CPU under extreme cooling. + Great VRMs, overbuilt for its price rang which is good. Can run a 3950x easily without a hiccup with manual OC. + PCB quality is great, which people don't pay attention to but it very important. + IO shield is real metal and thus keeps VRM temps low. + Internal USB 3.2 (USB C) header + one usb c in IO shield. + Very user friendly BIOS with constant updates. + Supplies a tiny bit less voltage than what you set which is important as it saves your processor from going kaput. - BIOS reset jumper is poorly positioned. - Not enough USB ports in the back. Should have removed PS2 port for 2 extra USB 3.1 ports. - A little expensive, ideally should be < $130. ... show more

  • Good motherboard for most users not into heavy overclocking
This motherboard is pretty good if you want to just do light to moderate overclocking. Memory overclocking isn't the greatest for Samsung b-die memory (2x16 TridentZ 3200CL14 kit oc'd to the screenshots shown). I could only get the memory overclocked to 3600CL-16-16-16-32-48 at trfc 324 (Gear Down Mode enabled) with pbo2 (manual) w/ curve optimizer settings. This is at 1.41V (vdimm), but voltage is around 1.425V. Paired with Ryzen 5800X cooled by NH-D15S (settings below) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ NB / SOC: AUTO (basically its 1.096 - 1.104V) VDDG CCD: .980V VDDG IOD: 1.030V VDDP: AUTO (0.900V) Curve Optimizer (per core) ------------------------------- Max PBO2 OC: Auto Best cores (two): -10 Rest of cores: -20 PBO2 ------- Manual (mode - basically default) PPT: 142W TDC: 95A EDC: 140A PROS - UEFI Bios is really nice and simple - Fairly easy to do simple overclocks and save profiles - NVME gen 3/4 heatsink is nice - PS/2 port works as long as you do a simple Google search to edit the 'registration' value via 'regedit' (as admin) CONS - CMOS battery location is awful as it's blocked by your GPU - Not a whole lot of space fitting in a NH-D15S cpu cooler in an mATX case (YMMV - I use an old Silverstone TJ08-E mATX case) - Memory overclocking potential is pretty bad for those that want to do 4x16 (samsung b die)...I suggest going with Crucial 4x16 kits as the new ones are single-ranked and not dual-ranked. - POST times are pretty meh Tips ----- Install the latest bios driver and LAN drivers first onto a 'usb flash' drive. Place that usb drive into the 'bios' usb port. ... show more

  • Good to buy
This is the famous MSI B550M Mortar motherboard. -System Specifications- M/B: MSI MAG B550M Mortar CPU: AMD RYZEN 5 3600 SSD: Western Digital 500GB WD_Black SN750 RAM: Samsung DDR4 25600 8G x 2 VGA: Gforce RTX 3070 BLACK EDITION OC D6 8GB *Because it is not a WIFI version, I purchased an additional WiFi 6 AX3000 PCIe WiFi Card from Amazon. Install the main board in the PC case and insert the power wires one by one after installing the power. After assembling all the CPU, memory and graphics cards, try running. Fortunately, it booted without any problems, and all parts were fully compatible. Some motherboards didn't fit well when the RAM was inserted, and there were times when they were uncomfortable when they entered, but the B550m mortar motherboard was different because it was neatly inserted. Since the PBO function is set to Auto by default, nothing else was touched. The B550m mortar motherboard seems to be stable overclocking because of its excellent power supply. It seems to fit well with the AMD RYZEN 3600 CPU and Gforce RTX 3070 graphics card. Here are the 3D benchmark test results. Time Spy: 11,449 (Graphic 13,315, CPU 6,382) Fire Strike: 24,042 (Graphic 32,383, CPU 18,761) -Overall review- Advantages: USB FLASH BIOS update, Stable Overclocking Cons: Not yet :) ... show more

  • Good Overclocking board
Budget but very good for the price. It is worth it 100%. Memory overclocks are solid as is everything else in this board except the Io. Seriously Msi? Why do your boards ALWAYS have crap connectivity?

  • A quality upgrade for my system
I got this as an upgrade, for an MSI B550 motherboard. I liked that one, but the audio on it was a little lacking. As it was the first PC I had built in many years, I was a little overwhelmed by the research, missed a couple of things I would have liked on the first board. This board solved all those issues. Super easy to install. Had a brief oh crap moment when the DRAM LED kept lighting up, but once I updated the BIOS (another super easy task off MSI's website), all was right! The audio is markedly better, and having a USB Type C port in back never hurts either. The price was right, the features are right, I am a happy camper! ... show more
