  • Get an external hard drive if you want to play multiple games.
Style: Laptop
I needed a new laptop mainly for school because my old laptop suddenly stopped working. When I received this laptop, I was impressed by the screen quality. There was no screen glare like my old laptop. This laptop is also very lightweight so it's easy to carry around. If you want to play multiple games with this laptop, I suggest getting an external hard drive. I play a lot of PC games and because the space for this laptop isn't much, I put any games I download from Steam into the external hard drive. That way, what I have saved to the laptop is only what I need for school. On the upside, playing games with this laptop really is high quality. ... show more

  • Well worth the price
Style: Laptop
As a college student, who's already in a lot of debt, money isn't really a resource I can spend frivolously. So when my old laptop, which was a $200-$300 , became water damaged. I became quite worried. I needed a cheap laptop that could perform the school work I needed to get done and I really didn't want to give up gaming. The MSI GL63 ended up being a good compromise between cost and functionality, allowing me to still play games and not have to skip meals for the next few months. The only downside is the black plastic casing. It looks sleek at first, but picks up on body oils real quick. Making it covered with fingerprints after few uses. ... show more

  • Great laptop, battery life very short.
Style: Laptop
This is my first actual gaming laptop and I bought this for playing World of Warcraft and other similar games and not for hardcore gaming like COD or others. I believe the graphics card has not been tested to it’s full capacity since these types of games don’t require much. But I run WoW in almost max graphics and works perfectly, I’m even able to stream while playing without seen fps issues. I find it a bit frustrating that the MSI software keeps changing the graphics profiles setup while playing, switching between balanced to performance to theater. Maybe I need to find a way for it not to automatically switch between profiles. Keyboard is nice with cool colors. I was very surprised on how short the battery lasted while playing. Probably lasted 30min or less. I hope this is not because of battery issues but it really lasted very shortly, reason why I gave it a 3 star on battery life. I assume it lasts more without playing... havent really tested it yet. But so far it has met my expectations. ... show more

  • Great power and reliability for the price.
Style: Laptop
For this price, this is probable one of the best and most powerful laptops you can get right now. It loads everything quickly and runs my 3d modeling program at 60 fps on a power saver mode. It has a good looking screen with no light bleed. I may sound like a jet engine, get hot, and only last 5hrs on a full battery, but if you are looking for power over anything else, you should overlook these. ... show more

  • the mic input was broke when i recieved it
Style: Laptop
Mine came with a broken headphone jack. I didn't use it with headphones right away so it was too late to get a replacement by the time I found out. I know msi has been getting awards for best gaming pc but this laptop feels like cheap quality and one of the parts not working before i even used it is further evidence of that. The screen is like how laptop screens used to look, like if its at slightly the wrong angle from your vision, everything's in shadow. My phone and mac have more colors or something because this looks washed out. It's been a few years since I've owned a Windows so maybe it's standard but I know they have the surface and such that uses better tech. Anyways, it was able to play games, just not with max graphic settings. The battery drained over 1%/minute while gaming, but as long as it's plugged in, it doesn't drop. While typing a document, the battery lasts hours longer. (I was using it at 0% screen and keyboard brightness) Also, i hate the huge trackpad because i can't type without accidentally mouse-clicking. ... show more

  • Great performance just a bit hot
Style: GTX1660ti|120hz|i7-9750|16GB|512GB
The laptop worked fine for the most part alot needed to be updated and some of the bloatware needed to be removed. When I was gaming I had a concern about the temperature. The GPU was fine it got up to maybe 72°C max but the CPU wow I was hitting 99°C constantly it was very worrisome. The cooling looked sufficient and the fans definitely blew alot of air but I couldn't get it out of the 90°+ range. Again maybe I got a lemon I've bought another one I'll update my review once I receive the laptop and test it. If it over heats again I may try redoing the thermal paste and if that doesn't work then all hope is lost. Update I received the second laptop. Haven't tested it yet for thermals but it does seem a bit better. I opened it up and you have room for a 2.5 hard drive as well as a second nvme ssd. Update #2: I have now put back together the laptop will all new thermal paste (thermal grizzly kryonaut). Temps dropped a whole 8°, but I am still hitting the 90s in small jumps. While gaming it's staying in the lower 80s to high 70s. This is still on the hotter side but is more manageable. These coolers aren't made for a consistent 45 watt load and this cpu jumps above 70 watts at times. I've seen as high as 75 watts. The GPU is perfect before it hit 70°c on the dot now with the new paste 68°c. Overall I do like the laptop but it needs better cooling and better apps to control fan curves and power limits. ... show more

  • Bargain Gaming Laptop
Style: Laptop
Honestly for 550 dollars (deal of the day) I couldn't ask for much more. Super quiet, keyboard is nice, screen is good. It can play most anything I want. Only complaints are that it comes with 8GB of Ram and half of that is eaten by Windows and the HD is an SSD (very fast) but only 256GB so a little small. The only thing I really don't like is the touchpad, feels kind of cheap and the mouse buttons are not the best. For the price I am very happy. ... show more
