  • It's not just a good gaming laptop, it's a damn good laptop, period.
First off, I pulled the trigger as soon as I saw it had made it's way to Amazon. I'm glad I didn't wait, because the next day the price had jumped by $300. The following day, the price went back down, only to go up again the following day. As of this writing, the price is nearly $400 more than it was at it's debut. I'm not sure why the price is fluctuating so much, so do your homework before jumping on it. I am not a heavy gamer, but I needed a laptop that could handle most games without grinding to a halt. I also wanted something that could be used as an all-purpose machine. I also wanted a screen that these aging eyes could read without squinting or connecting a larger monitor. The number pad has been vanishing from a lot of machines, so I was glad they kept it. Also the visually adjustable backlit keyboard was a must as well. This machine checked all those boxes and more. To be honest, from prior builds I knew MSI to be a top name in motherboards and other hardware, but I was not aware they were in the laptop business. I have always been satisfied with their components, so it was a reasonable assumption that their systems would also be of a higher quality. So far, I am not disappointed. I have been pushing the laptop to see how it handles graphically intense games, and the 3060 has run everything smoothly. I can't go deep into specific stats, since the only criteria I have is that the machine can run my games and apps without noticeable lag. The laptop itself is thick and heavy for a "thin" model, but considering what is under the hood, that is expected. It feels solid and there is nothing cheap looking about it. The matte finish keeps the fingerprints away. The keys have a good feel to them, although the Windows key is oddly located on the right side of the space bar, not on the left side where I am used to finding it. The display is a thing of beauty. It looks bigger than it is due to the thin bezel. The viewing area is very wide and the experience of viewing movies and videos is a pleasure to the eyes. The few cons I have found are really nit-picking. The font on the keys is...odd. The built-in speaker output is not good since they decided to put them underneath the laptop?! Also, the lack of a manual is common now, but I still prefer to read the instructions and detailed specs, such as RAM and HD locations, on paper. The biggest complaint so far is the fan noise. Most of the time it is quiet, but when you start gaming it sounds like a Boeing is taking off under the keyboard. Headsets are a must while playing. And the vents do get quite warm. I will update the review upon further use, but my initial impression is a very positive one. For a gaming laptop, it is very good. Maybe not a Goliath killer, but it will play what you want at a decent level. And as an everyday machine, it is stylish and performs exceptionally. ... show more

  • Good laptop for the price
At the time I purchased it, this laptop was only $1300 which was an awesome price for a laptop with a 3060 in it. I've had it for a couple months now, and it seems to be doing just fine. I put it through a stress test using FurMark and on extreme the GPU got to the mid 80s. I also ran a stress test on the CPU using the Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool and the CPU got to about 90. To me that's not terrible for pushing the laptop to 100% usage. I use it for game development using Unity, and it is awesome for that. The most graphically intensive game I've played was Mech Warrior 5; with everything cranked to the max and ray tracing on it played nicely. There was some stuttering but nothing terrible. I noticed that when I'm running multiple monitors (3 in my case: one hdmi, the laptop, and a usb monitor) that it doesn't play games as well. Without knowing much about hardware I imagine that this would be normal behavior for any system. Also if you plan on gaming with this thing, it is almost useless if it is not plugged in even if the battery settings are set to "performance". My only complaint is that programming the keyboard color can be a pain. It's default is a wave like rainbow pattern which hurts my eyes. I found a way to make it one color which I prefer. 5 stars only because I got it for $1300. I'm not sure I would pay $1600 for this. ... show more

  • If you do not mind the heat or noise, then this is a good choice.
This is my second gaming laptop but first with a 3060 in it. It does get very loud for the fans and above the keyboard gets very hot to the touch,, but the keyboard itself does not get too hot. You will feel the heat from the fans out the side vents, especially if your mouse is close to the laptop. Gaming wise, I'm playing Outriders at max settings and am getting 90 FPS average, so for a budget gaming, I do not think that is too bad. Borderlands 3 is about 70 FPS, Warzone is about 60. ... show more

  • Great gaming laptop.
Great laptop PC for gaming. Got it back when it was 1300 you might still be able to find it for that price. The loudness don't even bother me if anything I don't have to worry about it over heating. Through the dragon center you can monitor or adjust the fan levels for certain temperatures.

... show more

  • Wont play Blankos. Overheats when using 3D animation software
I'm creating games for sandbox.game 165, -132. Please come see my creations. Sadly, this PC will not work for creating the game assets I need. That could KIND OF be okay, that's high end graphics. But this PC should be able to play Blankos, even though the colors are amazing in that game. It can not. It overheats in minutes. This computers sounds nice and will work for basic games, but don't buy if you intend to utilize graphics. ... show more

  • Amazing first laptop
The media could not be loaded. Amazing! It can be a little loud unless u undervolt it or mess with the settings for the gpu and cpu hated how it was at first but it quickly became my baby! Just tinker with it and adjust the settings to your preferences and you'll be beyond happy.

  • Love it@
This little laptop fits my purposes great. I have a desktop machine for home but when I travel for work I wanted something light with a good screen that can play games. This laptop fits all those demands.
