I needed to buy a brawny laptop for data analytics and server development. I decided on the MSI GE75 because of (a) its specs and (b) my past experience with MSI laptops. I am very happy with my purchase. pros: -Great price given the (so far) high quality of the laptop -Surprisingly good screen: good viewing angles, colors and more than bright enough sitting right by a window -Keyboard is comfortable -Very fast, of course -Available technical support from MSI: called them a couple of times with questions, and I was always able to get through to a helpful agent. cons: -Loud fan -It gets very warm very fast, particularly noticeable in summer! I sometimes leave my phone/tablet near one of the vents. Picking it up, I am always surprised by how warm it's gotten -The per-key back lit full-color illumination is not great. I find the colors a bit hard to see, and there's some variation among keys that are supposed to be the same color Note that I've not added short battery life to my list of cons. I was never expecting even good battery life. This is a power machine that I can lug around if necessary. I would never use it without the charger. My last laptop was also and MSI, but it was 5 years old, so I needed an upgrade. i knew I would get another because mine had lasted so long. I bought the GE75 Raider. 32G RAM, 2070 Super, i7-10750H. Pros - - The individual lit keys are awesome and easy to set up. - 300Hz screen is amazing and I can tell a difference from my last one. - Fast startup from the NVME and lots of storage. - Everything overall feels well put together and seems like it will last. - Plenty of ports and there's no speaker grill, but the sound is much louder than my last one. - Options to customize almost everything. (Playstyle, battery usage/charging, keyboard) - You can register is with MSI and take a short survey for +6 months additional warranty. Cons- - Being that its a thin laptop, it gets hot quick, but it has the Cooler Booster 5. - The fans are loud, can't say it any other way. It does cool it off quick, but they're very noticeable. -It is also lightweight. So when you open the lid, the bottom will come up also. So you need to hold the bottom down to open it. This computer is all it's hyped up to be. The construction is solid. The keyboard is easily customizable. The image quality is so crisp and clear. Programs open quickly and perform quickly as well. I'm a light gamer, but my COD MW performance has gotten better. The fans are really quiet and the keyboard stays cool. The speakers are as good as you'd expect from a laptop. It's not light, but not too heavy either. I always have it plugged in, so I haven't had a chance to test battery life. This is by far the best laptop I've ever had. I upgraded from a 15" MSI, with an NVidia GTX 1060 graphics card and the difference is instantly noticable. I highly recommend this laptop. If you're an advanced gamer and you measure for hz, mhz, and other advanced performance factors, I can't speak to those things. But if you want a fast, quality, laptop with great looking screen images, this is an awesome choice. ... show more

I travel a lot and had anticipated getting at least 2 hours of batter life out of this laptop. However, under normal use, it barely lasts 90 minutes and can't seem to handle two heavy uses at once. It is a complete disappointment.

Absolutely gorgeous machine with awesome specs. The ONLY complaint I have is...weird. This won't run any RTS games like Stellaris or Sins of a Solar Empire. Has NO problem at all with turn based games like Galactic Civilizations or Civ6. It appears to be some sort of overlay issue, but I have not been able to find a fix. It REALLY hurts to lose Stellaris.... ... show more

Laptop was bought to replace a <2year old Dell that was overheating. Didn't realize how slooooow the Dell was until I fired this thing up. Sooo much faster. I use it to game, and everything runs as I would expect it. Not gonna lie, it gets hot, but it never fails, unlike the Dell. The only downfall was the monstrous amount of pre-installed junkware, including at least a half-dozen apps that are MSI-specific, that re-install themselves (or add themselves to the taskbar) at every reboot. Other than that, I'm very happy with this device. Even more than the Republic of Gamers laptops that I've had in the past that were... mediocre. ... show more

This is the best laptop I've ever owned. The speakers not only have bass, they fill the room. Playing halo2 was immersive. It naturally ran hotter than usual, but not anything too uncomfortable.
