  • Great entry level RTX GPU
Great entry level/budget GPU. The 3050 6GB version only uses 70 watts, which is within what the PCI slot itself can provide, so no 6 or 8 pin connectors from the power supply are necessary. This is great for OEM machines from the likes of HP and others that use proprietary power supplies, making upgrading the PSU more of a hassle. This, for me, was an upgrade from an RX 6400 in an HP Victus 15L (I used to build my own systems, but don't have the time any more, and this machine was a gift from my wife). HP, in their infinite wisdom paired the RX 6400, a PCIe 4.0 x4 GPU with a Ryzen 5600G APU/CPU... which only supports PCIe 3.0. This caused bandwidth bottlenecks on the PCI bus. Resizable Bar helped, but there were still issues. This 3050 6GB is a PCIe 4.0 x8 card, but does not have enough raw power to fully saturate a PCIe 3.0 x8 bus. As such this solved all of my lane bandwidth bottleneck issues, while at the same time, giving me a significantly better GPU for what I actually play. While this is an entry level card, I was able to play CyberPunk 2077 on high settings, getting between 50 and 60 FPS consistently. I was able to achieve almost 100 FPS on medium, and around 120 FPS on low. This is a very stable card for entry level. However, while it does support ray tracing, I would recommend against actually enabling ray tracing in most games, especially if you want to max out the ray tracing settings. You might get playable framerates in *some* games with minimal ray tracing, but if you try to max out ray tracing, you are going to be watching a slideshow. For clarity, my full system specs are: AMD Ryzen 5600G Processor 16 GB DDR4 RAM 1 TB PCIe 3.0 M.2 NVMe SSD RTX 3050 6GB GPU Overall, a great entry level RTX GPU. I do wish they still shipped every GPU, even entry level ones, with badges to stick on your computer though. I am just that type of goober. ... show more

  • It's an entry level card,so don't get your hopes up.
Value for the money is justified. It's not a performance based card and isn't advertised as such. My older card actually worked better, but the power requirements pushed my machine to the max. This caused overheating on certain games even when using a power curve for the GPU. Nvidia specified that the drivers for my old card and this one were compatible, it didn't work that way. I had to delete the old divers and do a new driver install...no big deal and it went smoothly and everything works fine without any overheating using the base/default settings. I'm happy and now my old (pre-built) clunker should last a few more years. Heat is not your friend, so verify PSU, CPU and GPU power requirements. ... show more

  • Great gpu
pretty good for the price but other gpus can get more fps per dollar but if your looking for a solid low budget gpu this one is recommended

  • Works so far...
Upgraded my stepdaughters GPU when she wore her GTX 1050ti out and was about to die. So far this RTX 3050 seems to handle her fast paced online gaming fairly well without much lag or resolution issues. No noticable FPS issues yet.

  • Solid card for the price point
Pretty solid card, but I am of course YEARS late to being current as usual. Symptom of being broke I guess. TLDR, solid card I got for a solid price. It was finally time to upgrade from the 1650 I've had for a while, and this card was the lucky winner in my price range. So far it's been dependable and relatively stable. I HAVE had a few pc crashes since swapping to this GPU, but I doubt it's the card; I upgraded my RAM sticks at the same time as well as added a new external SSD (which I KNOW has caused some of the issues due to the poor transfer speed. Get what you pay for I guess.) The GPU has kept really stable when actually playing things, though I don't own any AAA titles to put it through its pages. Stutters once in a blue moon while I'm playing for Honor on high settings and streaming from obs and playing yt in the background, but tbh my CPU is probably the culprit there too, however I can't give it five stars (as much as I'd like to) until I'm sure it hasn't had a hand in any of my issues. So far so good though! ... show more
