  • Great card for a budget gaming PC build
The MSI GeForce GTX 3050 is a solid entry-level graphics card that offers impressive performance for budget-conscious gamers and content creators. It comes with NVIDIA’s Ampere architecture, which provides significant power efficiency and improved performance over its predecessors. Here’s a breakdown of what to expect: Performance: The GTX 3050 shines in 1080p gaming. It handles most modern titles at medium to high settings, delivering smooth gameplay with a frame rate of around 60fps or more. While it won’t be able to tackle demanding 4K gaming at ultra settings, it performs well in most AAA games at 1080p and even some esports titles at higher frame rates. Ray tracing capabilities are present, but you’ll need to dial down settings for a consistent performance boost, especially in more graphically demanding games. Cooling & Build Quality: MSI’s Twin Frozr cooling solution is one of the standout features of this card. It’s quiet and efficient, keeping the GPU temperatures in check even under load. The build quality is solid, and the card itself feels premium, with a sleek design that fits well into most PC builds. The two-fan design ensures that the GPU stays cool, making it ideal for compact builds where airflow is crucial. Design and Aesthetics: The card’s design is typical of MSI’s modern aesthetic, featuring RGB lighting and a clean look that fits into most gaming rigs. While not as flashy as some high-end GPUs, it strikes a good balance of style without being over-the-top. It’s a great option for users who want a clean, understated look in their build. Price-to-Performance Ratio: At its price point, the MSI 3050 offers excellent value for users who are looking for budget-friendly options that don’t compromise too much on gaming experience. It's an excellent choice for gamers who don’t need top-tier performance but want a reliable graphics card that can handle most modern games at 1080p resolution. Final Thoughts: The MSI GeForce GTX 3050 is an excellent option for gamers who want good performance at 1080p without breaking the bank. It offers a great balance of price, performance, and cooling, making it a solid pick for entry-level gaming systems or budget-conscious users who still want a quality gaming experience. While it’s not going to compete with the more powerful GPUs in 4K or demanding tasks, it is a perfect fit for those who want to play the latest games at 1080p with great performance. ... show more

  • 5 Stars — Perfect Low Profile GPU for Small Form Factor Builds 5 Stars — Perfect Low Profile GPU for Small Form Factor Builds
I installed this card in a Dell Inspiron 3471 small form factor desktop — a chassis that was never designed for a dedicated GPU of this caliber. It fit perfectly without any modifications to the case or bracket. Performance Running demanding titles including Pragmata, Death Stranding 2, Marvel Rivals, and Resident Evil series at 1080p with DLSS Quality mode enabled. The card handles everything thrown at it with DLSS, Ray Tracing, and NVIDIA Reflex all functional. GPU temperatures stabilize around 78°C under sustained gaming load which is acceptable for a low profile card in a compact chassis. The Low Profile Advantage The included low profile bracket made installation straightforward. Dual fan configuration keeps temperatures manageable even in restricted airflow environments. Zero RPM mode at idle means completely silent desktop operation. DLSS Performance DLSS Quality mode at 1080p is excellent. The upscaling quality is impressive and gives the card meaningful headroom for demanding scenes. Power Requirements Running off a 500W PSU alongside an i9-9900 with no stability issues whatsoever. Bottom Line If you need a capable gaming GPU that fits in a small form factor case without modifications this card delivers. Ray Tracing, DLSS, and solid 1080p performance in a package that fits where full size cards cannot. ... show more

  • Decent card for an HTPC or small form factor PC
I bought this to fit in an HTPC built out of a stylish wooden case. It's an upgrade from the 1050 I had in there. It has worked out great, and run cool. a big plus is easily installing it into the PCIe slot without any extra power adapters. I recommend it for this type of build. On 1 out of every 25 startups on of the fans will make a clattering sound that goes away after 10 seconds. At this point 15 months later I just won't bother with any exchange, since I'd be without my Television and movies for much too long. Just putting it out there for people to be aware of, since some other reviews also point to fan breakdown. In operation it runs nearly silent for me. Overall it has been great for the purpose I bought it for and am glad that MSI is even bothering to make such a low cost card and low profile card! ... show more

  • A Decent Gpu, worth its money! A Decent Gpu, worth its money!
The delivery was speedy and packaging was as advertised. No blemish or scar whatsoever. Fixing it to my PC, A Huawei Matte desktop pc, was a charm and fitted right into the pcie slot. I had to install Nvidia drivers and really, it was like it came with the desktop. Performance is okay, I can play my Darksouls 3 at high/ max settings on 1080p. As long as gaming is on 1080p and high/medium settings, I reckon I'd be good. I'll test out Witcher 3 and KCD, and give updates. No noise and its quite quiet. Heating comes up when I run heavy stuff like Unreal Engine 5.6 for my level design, but not hot like my Alienware laptop. Good upgrade for the cost and the desktop. ... show more

  • Excellent for Modest AI Models
I bought this for an AI lab I built out of an old, but kind of new/barely used HPE Gen 10 ProLiant MicroServer and 8B LLMs took 20+ minutes to start typing and then another 10 - 20 minutes to finish. The 1.5B - 3B models did better. Anywhere from instant to 3 seconds. My choices for what I could put into the server were extremely thin and I decided this made more sense over the T1000 (age of technology) or A2000 (price). The 8B models are INSTANT! I am blown away with how much computational power I got out of this little card, but it is working extremely well for my purposes. It fit into the case perfectly into an x8 open-ended slot, it's quiet, and uses 70 watts of channel power. I had the 3050 in a laptop, so I was familiar with its performance of COD BO6, so I figured this OC edition for a "desktop" unit had to be amazing. Yes! Yes it's amazing. I am very happy with server and have found that the 6 GB of VRAM is not limiting at all. I should have no trouble using high parameter models (9 - 13B) as long as I can fit it into 5.9 GBs of memory. My server is headless and runs on Ubuntu Server 24. Thanks! ... show more

  • Good upgrade for older desktop PCs!
My first review gave this gpu 5 stars. 3 weeks ago one of the cooling fan blades started squealing and making a loud noise. I bought it in May 2025 so it’s well within warranty. I contacted MSI to obtain an RMA and paid to ship it to the factory for repair. Huge mistake ! After waiting 3 long weeks MSI decided to swap out my gpu and send me a new one. Problem is they packed a regular size gpu and not a low profile ! The card won’t fit my SFF tower so it may as well be a paper weight. I called support on Wednesday. The rep verified the wrong size gpu was sent and will contact their supply department regarding sending me a low profile unit. It’s now Friday and I haven’t heard anything back ! Totally unacceptable ! I will call them every single day until I get the correct gpu sent. Do not buy anything from MSI or hope you never ever need warranty service from them! This is by far the worst customer service I have ever received !!!! ... show more
