  • Beast of a Card
Had reservations on the 6600 xt, but after about a month I am very pleased with the purchase. This thing is a beast! I have no issues running max settings on 1440p on games like Elden ring, Lost Ark, Valorent. It also never goes above 70 degrees, although im not sure how much of this is attributed to the card as it is my airflow. I have a duel boot and most of my games are on windows, but have had zero driver issues running this on Fedora 35, which is nice. If you are not looking for 4k, and not looking for bleeding edge performance, then pull the trigger - given the price is right. At my time of purchase this was considerably cheaper than its peers at around $530. Perfect for a mid - high end system and hopefully will last a good while. ... show more

  • Amazing performance!
I managed to get this card for 409 directly from amazon, don't buy form 3rd parties since they rise the price way too much. Build quality is great, has great weight and no sag as far as i can tell (horizontal on a Yeyian Hollow 2500 case). The card is really really quiet, fans don't turn on until needed and even so, you can barely hear the fan. I'm getting the following performance on games (max settings no ray tracing) Days Gone 90+ fps at 1080p/60+FPS at 1440p Borderlands 3 110+ fps at 1080p FFXV 100 fps at 1080p Also if you enable AMD Super Resolution you can scale up any game that doesn't support FidelityFX Super Resolution, like Days Gone, I play it at 1440p and scale it up to 4k to get amazing performance and great visuals on a larger display, you could also play it at 1080p and scale it to 1440p. This is a great card for 400 or under, don't pay a single extra dolar and if Ray Tracing is a must for you, this card isn't for you. ... show more

  • Decent performance at 1440p on Linux
Don't let the 1080p marketing deter you as this is a very capable 1440p card. The very latest games may require some graphics tinkering to maintain that solid 60fps or greater. As an example older titles like Shadow of the tomb raider and Death Stranding are in the 80fps range while something newer like Ghost Wire Tokyo was in the 50fps range before tweaking. These were all tested with graphics setting at MAX. The card is a bit on the big side but with all this cooler it runs pretty quietly under load. It also runs very cool in the 50 and 60 deg celcius range when under load. There is also an RGB MSI logo if you are into that. If I had to nitpick, it would be that the GPU shroud feels a bit cheap being made out of plastic but this really is a non issue. *GPU was reviewed on a system running Ubuntu 20.04 with HWE kernel and drivers from Obaif PPA. ... show more

  • Worked great, computer runs smooth as butter
I was high key surprised to find a 6600 XT for less than $1000. After some shenanigans with FedEx and waiting for the rest of the parts I needed I added it to my latest build and everything worked great. Snapped right in, was easy to set up, and am enjoying seeing what games I can max out the quality on now. ... show more

  • Very Quiet
Works great. Very quiet. I assume it runs cool but I haven't tested it. The heatsink and fans look good. I don't know how to turn off the MSI logo which is lit up by RGB. The release date was August 2021. The MSRP was around 379 which should be its price, plus a little for the heatsink and fans since it's the Gaming X model. I originally got an MSI gtx 1660 super Ventus and it was loud and the fans had no silent mode. So this Gaming X model is much better. ... show more
