  • perfect for sims and autocad
i use mine for AutoCAD, never lags, absolutely perfect, NEVER GO ANYWHERE WITHOUT THE CHARGER!! dies in an hour or two but for the performance i think that range is typical. Sims 4 also runs smoothly.

  • MSI M16: A great computer with a few manageable drawbacks
Let's get this out of the way first - the cons: The MSI M16 is a bulky, heavy beast of a computer. Its touchpad sucks, its battery life is mediocre, and the black plastic shell attracts fingerprints like a shower drain gathers hair. It would also be great if it had a MicroSD card slot, but I acknowledge that's what adapters are for. The pros: Everything else about the laptop is great. Performance is super smooth, not very loud or hot even when playing modern graphics games like Baldur's Gate 3 or Red Dead Redemption. Works well for 3D design, word processing, etc. as well. Speakers are good, and the cooling hex design on the underside is pretty cool looking. 3 regular USB ports, a USB-C port, HDMI, Ethernet, and a headphone jack cover pretty much all the bases in terms of inputs/outputs. If you can get it on sale, it's well worth the $1100 sale price. I wouldn't pay $1.5k or more for it, but it's a great computer at the price point. ... show more

  • I really like it!
I got the model with the i7-13620H, RTX 4060, 1TB SSD, and 32gb RAM Pros: fast as heck, lightweight, beautiful display with a taller screen (great for editing portrait-orientation photos), good value, lots of ports, decent battery life (considering capability and weight), 10-key included, and a simple, understated design without a rainbow keyboard Cons: no SD slot on a "creator" series laptop, confusing 10-key layout with non-dedicated home/end/pg up/pg down buttons. Overall, I really like this laptop and I'm more than happy to give it 5 stars. I use a USB-C to SD card adapter which I can easily swap between my phone and computer, so that's not a huge hassle. I mostly use this laptop for lightroom and photoshop, and it works great! However, why can't I get an exact replacement charger on Amazon or from MSI's website? I'd like a backup and I don't want to risk a third-party AC adapter. ... show more

  • Inital Impressions
Let's start with the dislikes as some digging was required and reaching out to MSi for an answer #1. Cons: 1. Keyboard backlight - goes off in about 5-10 seconds and cannot be adjusted for a longer duration. After various web searches and no answer suitable for this model I contacted support and this is not a option at this time. No software setting BIOS parameters to change , nothing. If anyone comes across a fix or workaround please post it. 2. Finger print sensor - black on black, it blends in too well with the touch pad. Even though I know where it is I find that its location and stealth are annoying. 3. Finger print magnet - as others have stated, I see them all the time inside and out so if you have anything on your hands besides skin expect evidence to show up on this laptops surfaces. 4. Home Key - non existent on the keyboard. I guess gamers do not go Home or I just keep missing it? 5. Speakers - Eh, volume is not great and audio quality lacking. Better with headphones Pros: 1. Quiet - I've yet to either hammer it or hear the fans kick in to turbo unlike my work DELL that want to lift off quite often 2. Easy setup - no issues with WFI connection, printer setup, BT devices or other 3. Multi-tasking - the device handles my ADD quite well with everything I have going on at once. Will stress it more when I get to the video editing and using my SDR with it to see how it performs 4. Bright screen - very bright as some have mentioned. Daytime use under the sun should be no issue if you need it Will provide additional updates later after getting some more setups done. For the price though 'if you catch a sale' and the components and performance it's a good'un. ... show more

  • Excellent laptop
CPU: Ryzen AI 9-365 RAM Size: 32 GB Hard Disk Size: 1 TB Graphics Description: RTX 4060 Style: QHD+
Stays cool if you know what you're doing. Plays older games in 2k great and newer games in 1080p fine. What I'm disappointed about and I overlooked is the screen isn't HDR. I replaced the 1st slot drive to 2tb gen4x4 7,400mb/s and moved the original drive into the 2nd slot. I love how easy it is to take off the bottom cover. Only 7 screws. Rgb colors for the laptop keyboard work great! ... show more

  • Broke quickly without reason.
It stopped working in a year. Been using computers over twenty years, I know the do’s and don’ts of how to treat them. This one, with minimal usage as well, gave out just after the one year mark. Contacted CS, synopsis is I can spend hundreds of dollars shipping it to them and have them repair it for possibly hundreds more. Since this laptop is already a hardy $1300, this is beyond unacceptable. ... show more

  • Not what I thought it was.
CPU: 14th Gen i9 RAM Size: 32 GB Hard Disk Size: 2 TB Graphics Description: RTX 4070 Style: QHD+
November 2024 I just got done setting up my return label and writing this review on the laptop. I had a Dell XPS and it died after 2 years. I am a content creator and this looked like a good deal. I had it for a few days and gave it a good go! The screen was larger and brighter then my Dell, so that was a plus! But the mouse pad is very clicky and has a lot of movement. I did not like that at all! I believe this would wear out after a while. My laptop cooler pad has a back lip and having a power cord that is located in the back caused it to bend. This also cause the laptop to hang off the font. The foot print is much larger then my old Dell. Had to plug my memory card in a USB adapter and it took much long to transfer files. The fans seem to kick on as soon as the computer boots up and you can hear a low hissing. Installed my editing software and gave it a update. My internet connection was painfully slow and couldn't figure out why. Surfing the web and the images loaded slowly. I reset my router and at this point I just wanted my Dell back. Bottom line this laptop probably would be a real good PC to sit on a desk and use a blue tooth mouse. But if you sit in the lazy boy at night and the PC sits on you lap this is probably not for you. ... show more
