The fabric seems to repel water fairly well. I used it during the freak storms in September and I had no issues. The cap at the top of the umbrella does come off easily but it can also be screwed back on just the same. Large enough for one person.

This was great for a recent trip I did! It rained a lot on the trip, so I certainly was able to get a lot of use from this. However, if you have the option, make sure you dry it completely before folding it. I didn't, and it's now pretty rusty (it's less than 2 months old). It still works great, but I definitely should have let it dry to prevent rust! Otherwise it stands up great to rain and wind, so it's a great option for a travel umbrella. ... show more
