Hi! I’ve used this twin size mattress on two camping trips. If I have power I can use the cord to self inflate. If no power I can use my battery operated air pump. Of course it is a blow up mattress - they are not like a real mattress but the fact that it’s taller than most - if you are 5 feet you can comfortably sit on the side. So far no issues - it’s firm and doesn’t lose much air in hot humid conditions. I do top it off at night before I go to bed because I prefer a firm mattress. ... show more

As others have said, it's really more of an inflatable bed to use at home than a traditional blow-up camping mattress (I did get the 18-inch height one). I used it for 10 days over the holidays and for logistical reasons I actually had to inflate and re-inflate it every day and it held up perfectly. It takes just over 2 minutes to inflate and closer to 5 to deflate; it's quite noisy, but our dog just sat and watched the magic happen, ha. The velvety surface is a great touch. The ridged sides aren't quite as rigid as the rest of the mattress, so it's not great for sitting on the edge--someone with mobility issues might find it challenging to get up out of, even at the 18-inch height. Still, at this price, it's an ABSOLUTE deal and if you're not sure, I'd definitely get it. ... show more
