This is a cute travel umbrella with it's black background and white polka dots. When folded, it's quite compact but easily opens up to a personal size umbrella. We haven't had rain since I've received this so I can't comment on it's waterproof capabilities though the material feels just like my other umbrellas, which do well to keep me dry. I like that the pole and frame pieces are all in black which gives it a more cohesive look. The button on the handle works well to open it and it does take a little 'elbow grease' to fold it back down but that also works well. This is the perfect umbrella that is easy to carry around. We got this for our daughter who is at college so she had something small for when it rains to walk to class with and this is perfect for that. Most of these umbrellas now a days are big and bulky and don't store well in a dorm. Very nice quality and perfect if you need a portable umbrella. ... show more

At the current price point of $7.99 this is a good basic umbrella. It is not anything special and does Not stand out from other small compact umbrellas. I was mostly picking it for the low price. It is fragile though like most all other umbrellas of this size are so I would probably not use it in Stronger winds. The polka dots are cute too and make this umbrella suitable for women.
