A swivel regulator gives you the ability to adapt usage from a disposable cylinder to a remote gas supply with the purchase of a hose and filter. To light the unit, simply rotate the knob to pilot and push. Then the integrated Piezo sparking mechanism will take care of the rest. I used this for a 2 person sports canopy/shelter in October in Maine for bird hunting and it was very warm (as in remove hat and gloves and jacket in small area). I now have it set up in my 4-6 person Eskimo and it’s on low and and it’s 29 degrees outside and no wind and I’m very satisfied! Keep in mind also that I have an insulated Eskimo that’s like a quilt. I’m sure I’ll be hooking up my 18.000 BTU before long, but for price and reliability, a HOMERUN! (Used it now about 30-40 times)! ... show more

The ease of hooking up and using this product was amazing. You simply screw on the bottle and turn it on. Works perfectly. I bought this heater because I was driving to Kansas City with -27 windchill and didn’t want to break down and not have a backup plan.

I lost power for 24 hour and the outside temps were near zero during that time frame. The heater helped me keep warm until the power came back on. I love that it’s propane but can be used indoors !

Given the stellar reviews, it really seemed that this would serve my needs--to supplement a decent electric heater on those below zero days in a small room in an unheated garage. And I think it will do that great, it really cranks with the heat, and starts right up. But I'm worried about the CO factor some. There are no windows in the small room, and running the unit immediately kicks the air cleaner into high gear (the air cleaner detects changes in air quality and reacts accordingly). But that probably is because there always is the faint smell of propane when starting a heater like this--and that's normal, you'll smell a little on all propane devices, like gas grills, etc. My air cleaner will not detect CO. Reviews on the subject are split, you DO need venting because it's gas powered, you DO NOT need venting because unit has an oxygen depleting sensor that will shut unit off if it is triggered, thereby eliminating possibility of CO being produced. Even the instructions hedges their bets on it--for emergency indoor use that touts benefits of aforementioned sensor, while also stating that proper ventilation is necessary in use of unit. It seems like it should be one or the other. And if it's just a case that so long as unit is functioning properly there is no need to worry about CO, then I wish Mr Heater said so in that simple of language in the instructions. I'll pick up a CO detector and go with what it indicates. UPDATE: Ran unit on high with Kidde CO detector 4 feet above and away from it for an entire life of 1 lb propane cylinder, 2 hours with door closed. Garage room is about 7' by 8' by 15'. Alarm did not go off, not once. I'm NOT recommending running it without ventilation, but feel much safer with it now that it tests out to my satisfaction. Found this heater on Amazon for $20.00 less than what Walmart charges. It heated up my 30' travel trailer 10 degrees in a matter of minutes. It put out so much heat on high that I had to use it on low. It does put out some fumes so you need to make sure you have some form of ventilation so you don't have to worry about carbon monoxide. ... show more
