Overall, this is a great product and have purchased other products from this manufacturer for TV mounting. For the best experience - check the center to edge on the monitor to ensure arm can fully extend with a couple of inches so it can fully extend to allow for cable management, even over a desk. - Some new monitors mount holes are not in the center of the diagonal so a few adjustments in measuring may be required. ( I used it on an Samsung Odessey 43") and not many arm mounts could fit the hole pattern of 200 x 200. Because of the way the rails are for mounting, this would generally work on most mount patterns. In any earthquake zone stud mounting is the best choice. It would have been better (for me) if the pivot point could have been a little flexible with quality grooves since I have 16" studs. The studs and monitor were are rigidly aligned and left me little wiggle room for placement over the desk as this is in a tight corner.

the only reason I struggled with the installation was the fact that the builder of my house basically placed studs like they'd never seen wall construction plans in their life, so I put up some backer 5/8 inch plywood and screwed in at two-inch intervals with wall anchors and then mounted the bracket onto that. It's super sturdy and the range of motion is good enough to put my TV directly in a corner, or lay it flat on the wall.

& do not consult you when they place an outlet in dead center (right where I'd like the TV and requires the mount at that spot. The side mount is ingenious. Outlets fit right in the center of the large span. Would easily fit across three studs (I installed it into cement). Mount is 26 in wide. Personally, I'd like to see a non-cantilever one and I am not terribly interested in the 'swing arm'. VERY well built.
