I made the mistake of buying one of those plastic adjustable stands and my crazy expensive DVD player took a nose dive to the tile floor after a few months. Never again. I bought this one for my RV where there will be a lot of movement. This is super sturdy. I will never need anything else.

Before ordering, make sure if will work with your setup.

I attached this mount to the back of my TV to place my wireless router and cable box out of sight. It worked for my very particular setup thanks in part to the fact that I had a sound bar mount already installed on the TV. I used the long arms of the sound bar to add stability to this particular mount, otherwise if would feel flimsy. Instead of attaching it to the back of the TV using only one of the VESA holes, I attached it to the sound bar arm at two points making it more stable (using my own hardware). The base of the mount is 7.9" x 7.9" so it worked for my application. I do not picture a full size DVD player or audio component fitting on the small base. Before ordering, it is imperative that you plan ahead, and figure if this unit will fit your TV setup. In my case, the extremely short arm of the mount (9.6") would not had allowed this mount to be placed on top of my 55" TV, probably only at the bottom.

Ideal for my keyboard

I purchased this as a resting place for a logitech wireless media keyboard to a second computer in an effort to help keep the keyboard out of the way when not needed. Works very well for my needs. I have this bracket mounted to the back of an older 27" LED display (ViewSonic). Even though this is not a large display, I was only able to use one of the VESA mount points to connect this bracket (i.e. only one bolt holds this in place). With my keyboard, this bracket is a tad wobbly due to the thinner gauge pressed metal used. The platform itself is relatively small (~8"x8") and has a lip on the front. I cannot provide details as to how well this will work for a DVD player or similarly size media device but suspect that you may want to consider some type of anti-slip matting to help mitigate a unit from sliding off the platform.

Easy install, solid performance

I used this as an add-on for my TV stand that has no shelf for the mini computer that drives my online streaming movies and TV series. I unconventionally zip-tied the shelf to the TV stand leg and it holds perfectly. I'm sure Velcro or other methods would work too. The shelf is stable and capable of holding my mini computer without issue.
