  • Just what I was looking for!!!
I ordered this product to put my bedroom stereo equipment on...I was using an old tv stand that had very little room on it and I had to stack my components on top of each other and still they were basically on the floor as the old stand was about a foot shorter than this one.First thing I noticed was how well packed this item is....next was how very thin the glass shelves are....I think they are rated at about 33 pounds each...I think that would be pushing it...Luckily,none of my gear is that heavy except possibly my turntable...As many others have mentioned on here...component width gear, which is usually 17 inches or so wide BARELY fit between the front posts on this shelving unit....alsothey are not as deep as one would like...my ONKYO 6 Disc carousel changer hangs over about 2 inches in the front...Not the look I wanted, but luckily the front feet on the device are set back enough to still land on the shelf,so I will live with it.Assembly was super easy...took only about 10 minutes, but be warned, the assembly instructions are really just pictographs and made more confusing as they illustrate the different configurations that this unit can be assembled in...All in all,I am satisfied with the unit ...it seems sturdy enough and I like the look of it. ... show more

  • Compact design, aesthetically pleasing
I was torn between 4 and 5 stars on this product. It gets 5, because it just can't be beat for the price. The unit is aesthetically pleasing, compact, and easy to organize. It's also surprisingly sturdy for the way it's built - a series of threaded rods tighten all of the aluminum verticals together to support the shelves. One thing to note before buying: MAKE SURE THE FEET ARE ON RIGHT-SIDE-UP. One of the big cons to this unit is the instructions. The first time I put it together, I put the feet on the wrong way. If you do that, the threaded steel rods will screw in past the threads of the feet, and the stand will be flimsy and wobbly. After some troubleshooting, I figured it out, and it's rock solid. Pros: Looks great Great price Sleek and compact Easy to customize and organize Cons: Ambiguous instructions The aluminum verticals take up some of the shelf space, so if you have a really huge AVR, it might not fit anywhere but on the top shelf Overall, I would recommend this stand. Just make sure to get some good measurements of your components, and subtract about 2" from the shelf dimensions listed here. ... show more

  • Felt Cheap at first but doing the job
Your general, "cheap junk from China that I bought from Target and now have to assemble" feel, immediately upon opening the box. The pictogram "instructions" are terribly small, to the point of guessing at first. Overall, not hard to put together but just annoying enough to get on here and complain about it. The manufacturer should add 1/4 or 1/2 to the inner-width by shrinking the fake pole size, saving money and giving the consumer more room. As it is essentially designed to be a TV/entertainment center/stereo system stand, my experience with this product shows that all devices (even some big JVC receivers from 90s) will fit but in many cases it is "just wide enough". Generally too tight of a fit for my tastes but it is functioning and looks nice. The worst part about tight fit is actually in the back. If you have an A/V receiver on the bottom with all the wires hooked up, you will probably not want to install the metal cover that creates the hole you put your wires through. In my case, it didn't leave enough room for even speaker wire to be plugged in properly. Not installing the bottom piece of metal with the hole in it was the solution. Keep in mind, this design is overall flawed, as it is only stable if "bottom-heavy". If you have all the shelves empty, and decide to put something heavy on top, be careful. The floor support (legs) in the back are close together but far apart in the front. If you look at it, it is as if it was designed backwards, then they spun the back-to-front and made a minor tweak to make the back function as the front. Again, it is working fine and it looks cool with almost matching my desk but YMMV not for all. I give it good marks overall, as I'm happy with it and using it as my A/V stand, with a turntable on top, some gear in the middle, and main receiver on the bottom shelf. However, for $80 bucks I dunno.. feels like cheap junk that looks nice but then again something more sturdy and durable is probably at least triple the cost (and up). ... show more

  • Surprisingly sturdy.
I was skeptical assembling this, as it's very wobbly. However, you tighten it up when you have it all assembled, and it locks up tight and very sturdy. The difference was so dramatic it stood out to me, and I was pleasantly surprised! Working great for our AV equipment!

  • Easy to set up and use
I used this media stand for the home theater system in my bedroom. It's relatively small and fits perfectly into my room. It was very easy to assemble and look beautiful.
