I had a nearly literal ton of Legos as a kid and we recently broke them out of storage for my little one to soon inherit. This reminded me however of how fun the kits are but quick checking shows they are way more expensive than I remember. Decided to take a chance on an 'off brand' because the model looked cool and the price was right. Everything in this kit seems to be 'Lego compatible' which wasn't so important in my buying it but it is worth a note. The instructions are basically what I remember from back in the day though one or two steps could have been more clear and some where downright odd (though a bit clever). Specifically the fastback design isn't actually 'bricked' into place, it just stays in mostly by gravity and held on each end which is a cool idea but tricky to install. I was looking for 'easier than airfix' so was pretty pleased with the difficulty level. Not looking for a challenge, just something for a few hours of casual fun so pretty perfect. About the only issue I have is with the decals. I broke out the optivisor and lights to get really precise but the stickers themselves can't be lined up right and the color doesn't match the bricks. You can see the alignment issues and the color difference in the third image closeup. All the other details are really nice, the interior is pretty well detailed for a small brick model and the display case is awesome. The design on the case allows for easy stacking either on a standard platform or more specifically to stack with the other models by this brand. Took a few hours of casual assembly while watching some TV and now it has a prominent place on my display shelf. If you are looking for some retro nostalgia fun this is a good kit for some fun. Would also be good for a kid who likes cars and Lego. If you are a hardcore model builder probably a bit weak but not really the target audience I think.

I got this to build it with my son. He took the kit and just built it while we had a nice chit-chat. I didn't even end up getting to look at the directions, open a bag, or anything. I only got to pick up all the plastic bags and put them in the trash after he was done. So I asked him to rate the kit. How does it compare to that big fancy brand kits? This one was great Dad, very comparable. How about the instructions, clear, detailed, and easy to follow? For sure Dad, this was easy to build, the directions were easy to follow. Do you like how the kit turned out, and would you want another kit from this brand? Yes, I like this very much, if you can get more from this company I would like that. I agree it looks nice built, it comes with a plastic display case. He built it pretty quickly. I'd get more kits from this company, and recommend this kit.

Great set, fit pretty well together for being an off brand brick set. Fit/finish are really good, no extra flash or anything on the bricks. The display case was eh but you don't have to use it if you have better options. For a kit like this being a good 1/4th the price of a Lego set, this was awesome!
