Something is terribly wrong with this vacuum head. After five minutes of use there is a terrible burning smell and it is very hot to the touch. I am concerned it will catch fire. On the other hand it cleans well but is fairly useless if you can only use it for 5 minutes.

Honestly, when I saw this initially, I thought it was a silly idea. But Other than a few rugs at the two doors and the stove, the entire house is Hardwood floors with tile in the kitchen and bathroom, so I figured I would get it and try it and see what I thought. Turns out having a head for the vacuum that is made specifically for hard floors makes a big difference. Rather than the typical beater bar with brushes that spiral around, it is one full fuzzy bar. This works much better for picking up all the little hairs and dirt and dust off the hard floor then, the regular beater bar does. I also love and hate the fact that this has a light on the front. Both of those are for the same reason. I can now see all the stuff that is on my floor! One day I did a comparison and went over the floor with the regular head and then switched to this one. As soon as I hit the button and the light came on, I could see all the stuff that the regular head missed. My only current complaint is is that I have to figure out how to get the little roller out of it So I can clean it because it is squealing and that drives me crazy. Lol. Long story short, when the day comes that this one breaks I will definitely be getting another one.

I have 3 dogs, and while our Roomba, gets most of it, we still need to vacuum once a week to get the bits it misses. I have two Dyson stick vacuums (V10 and V11) and this head works with both of them. We have hard floors on our main floor, and I like how the light illuminates the smallest dust particles so the soft roller can pick them up, and also vacuum up the bigger bits. I also like that it can be disassembled to clean the roller and casing.

The Jorair Motorhead Vacuum Attachment Dust Detection Light for Dyson V7. Tested on my Dyson D7 and it fit perfectly, snapped right into place. Brush spun really fast, and didnt realize that it is a very high density brush unlike the original that has a sweeping motion. Feels like the brush is almost for polishing. The not so good; the light as you can see is only okay, seems to be aiming too high in angle. Brush could use a little more sweeping - gaps in the brush to grab dirt. And lastly feels like the brush needs to be a few millimeters lower in the housing, it is almost floating. Overall for the value it is a good alternative to hardwood floors for your Dyson (see models)
