I didn’t know what to expect because the price is inexpensive. I needed a 12 volt trolling motor for a 14 foot Jon boat and researched quite a few, before settling on this one. It took me a minute to get the handle attached to the motor but it wasn’t that complicated. It has forward and reverse and different speeds on both. It doesn’t seam to use nearly as much power and I used it off and on all day for several days ; without recharging the battery. All in all; I happy with it ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I honestly didn't expect this motor to be as good as it is. I bought the 30lb thrust motor and even with 3 people on a 16 foot canoe it runs quickly and smoothly.

The switch in it is bad. Sometimes it works. Has stranded me 2 different times. Motorguide says I have to take to a service center which all listed are no longer in business or have no idea why they are listed on Motorguide's website as a service center. Over 100 miles to anywhere that can look at it. Cheaper for me at this point to just buy Minn Kota from now on. I'm a professional guide and frequently upgrade my equipment. Works great except that the lowest speed moves a heavy jon boat with two aboard too fast for bass fishing. Had to keep turning it off and on so as to not work the shore line too quickly.
