I am really happy with this phone. It's fast, it has a bright and decent crisp display. It was a replacement for an LG V20 which was a premium phone in its day. This phone is considered a budget phone, but is superior to the V20 in so many ways, mainly because the industry has advanced so much in 10 years. Negatives are the taller skinnier profile is slightly harder to read than my old phone. I think this is typical of newer phones. The sound quality is good, but it lacks multichannel recording software that was native to my V20. The camera is adequate, nothing extraordinary. Definite pluses are long battery life and built in headphone jack. No issues setting it up. After transferring the data off my old phone using the built in software, I just moved my Verizon SIM (it's unlocked);and my SD card into the built-in tray on the side. No need to pay Verizon $35 to set it up. There are biometric security features that I don't use, but they are good if you like them. I got the phone for $13 using credit card points (list was like $139) so it was a super deal for me. No regrets, great for normal everyday use or as a bridge phone when your $1000+ Samsung phone fails.

04/25/2026 update I'm raising this back to 5 stars ... faulty charging Moto wire and power brick wasn't the phone at all ... tested with other devices and had bad results as well, so I threw out the original Moto wire and power brick. ======================================================================================== 03/16/2026 update I'm taking off a star from my review. Something strange is happening with charging the phone. Suddenly it started locking up to 30% and requires a restart for it to go forward. Nothing specific happened, no system updates, and I'm going to keep my eye on it for now since I can't troubleshoot to anything. ========================================================================================= I took a chance and ordered this phone from Amazon Resale and received a very generous discount off the discounted price. Hopefully I didn't just buy someone else's problem. For starters, the box I received it in was shabby and dirty and the charging cable was unraveled in the box, however the phone was wrapped in plastic and appears intact with a fully charged battery. I am a big fan of Motorola and this is my fourth phone from them. While my most recent Edge 2021 5g is still in perfect working condition, I just couldn't pass up this Motorola G Power 2025 at this ridiculously low holiday sales price especially given the impressive technical specs that it comes with. I did read many of the reviews both good and especially the bad ones to see if there is a pattern of something inherently wrong with this model. I couldn't tell since some of the reviews are very sparse on actual details. So here goes my review for the "Moto G Power - 2025, UNLOCKED, Made for US 8-128gb, 50MP Camera": Cons: I'm doing this first since it's important that you understand what you're getting into with this phone. -The phone is slightly smaller (length), slightly thicker and slightly heavier than my Edge 2021 5g - not a big deal but worth noting -The phone comes with standard factory load like all phones but for a 2025 model this appears to be inadequate as I will explain in the next bullet point -The phone is a quick boot and once up and running it will immediately pair with your previous phone (if you allow it) and begin transferring data and configurations along with any Google backups you may have. This is where things get choppy - there isn't an obvious way to select what to transfer and in not providing a screen pause with choices it embarks on downloading your entire library of photos, videos and music which for many of us may be a long and exhausting process that may quickly fill up the phone 128gb. In doing so it also begins to initiate Updates to the phone OS thereby doing double duty and an extremely lengthy process where it also shuts down your screen (power saver) and causing you to periodically have to sign back in, which in turn pauses the Updates and you have to restart them. This is both frustrating and ill conceived by the manufacturer. I actually decided to stop it, reset to factory setting and restart without any account and data restoration just so I can process the phone OS Updates. -The phone OS Updates take "several hours" (that's right "several") and if you don't monitor them they will stop (all are required and all are sequential) making this a multi-hour project. If you don't monitor and apply each one, then the Updates stop and will Update and Restart at what it thinks are your off-hours. This explains why so many reviews keep complaining about the phone being slow, not having proper connectivity, randomly rebooting, etc. etc. All those things are accurate and true if the phone is left to its own "smart" schedule for OS Updates and would frustrate you for days or possibly weeks, by my estimate, even if you are a techie but make some reasonable assumptions around the data transfer and phone OS Updates which in fact are not how it works at all on this phone. Pros: -The phone was actually less expensive then the Edge 2021 5g which I also bought on an Amazon sales event, even though the new Mediatek chip and RAM are much, much, much better than my Edge 2021 - storage is the same - 128gb. -The phone is solid and well built end to end - "stunningly impressive" are also its IP67/IP68/MIL-STD 810H ratings which no other phone that I am aware of can make claim to at this price point. A heavy duty phone without a heavy price. -It boots quickly, the screen is absolutely gorgeous and extremely crisp and clear in all light conditions. -The phone overall is very, very, very fast with the Meadiatek chip and RAM. In fact this is the fastest phone I've ever had. -Plenty of storage at 128gb for average user and I added a 1TB SDHC which went in quickly and works better than any other SDHC on any other phone I've ever had. - Battery is tremendously well tuned with the phone and with a 36% screen setting, which is perfect for me visually, I can use this phone heavily for nearly 52 hrs - above and beyond what the manufacturer rates it -The speakers on the phone are also exceptionally good and pleasant to use without sounding echoey and whinny - won't replace your high end audio devices but pretty good as is and plenty loud. -The rear camera absolutely shines at 50mp and takes very impressive pictures in all light conditions and all settings macro/.5/1x/2x - the front camera is also OK for most uses and selfies. Some people commented on getting terrible pictures and I'm not sure how or why, but it may be caused by lack of understanding on how to Tune your camera under Settings to meet your use expectations, or how to switch camera modes on the bottom front screen when using the camera. Either way I think this is miles above my Edge 2021 5g. -WiFi/5g is blazing fast and I can watch any of my video or play any game without the phone chocking, stopping or buffering. -Voice connectivity is excellent and I haven't experienced any problems at all as described by some of the other reviews. I tested the phone recently across 3 US states in the NorthEast on a 450 mile round trip and had zero problems at all while playing music, using Google Maps, responding to text via voice connectivity and initiating or receiving phone calls. -Charges very, very fast with a 30W brick and corresponding USB-C wire AND even more impressive it has WIRELESS charging ability with a 15W pad which is also very fast and convenient especially at office or overnight by bedside - a rare feature at this price point -Last but not least - once you get through all the phone OS Updates you wind up with the latest and greatest Motorola Android 16 version which is spectacular. Can't ask for anything more if you can endure the pain of the OS setup which is no small feat for most users. Additional note: -Some negative reviews note that the phone doesn't work with their specific providers, or has problems when you swap your SIM. My suggestion is that you should immediately check your new IMEI with your provider for compatibility before you start to do any work on the new phone, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, request a new SIM or eSIM for your new phone. Rarely does swapping an old SIM that was provisioned for your old phone IMEI work well, or at all, in a new phone. This is a security and safety feature for most wireless providers. I highly recommend this phone.

Quite frankly, I don't understand why people still spend well over a thousand dollars on the latest Samsung flagship phones when you can pick up the Moto G Power (2026) for around $300. This phone is easily the best-kept secret in tech right now. It does everything the massive name brands do, but for a tiny fraction of the cost. Premium Features on a Budget You aren't sacrificing the core smartphone experience here at all. The 6.8-inch display is massive and features a incredibly smooth 120Hz refresh rate, meaning scrolling through apps and browsing feels identical to a phone triple the price. Plus, the performance is snappy and responsive thanks to a generous 8GB of RAM, easily handling day-to-day multi-tasking without a hitch. Unbeatable Battery Life Samsung and Apple flagships barely scrape through a single day of heavy use. The Moto G Power effortlessly lives up to its name, easily pushing into 1.5 to 2 full days of life on a single charge. When you do need to plug in, the 30W TurboPower charging gets you back up and running in no time. Built to Last Motorola didn't skimp on durability either. My old phone, a Samsung Galaxy S10, no longer seemed to be able to connect to network data anymore, and I did everything except factory reset to try to fix it because I have too much on it I don't want to erase and backing it all up is too difficult (some apps are out of date and no longer supported, etc) especially without knowing for sure that a FR would work. So, I bought this phone as a sort of last ditch solution. Honestly, it's better than I expected. Nice screen size. Looks decent. Has all the capabilities I need on a daily basis. However, I will say this: there are lots of elements of this phone, despite it being four years newer than my Galaxy S10, that are below the S10's specs: screen resolution is a big one, as is processor speed and RAM. Superficially is the exterior which, unlike the Samsung, doesn't have tempered glass, but I actually kind of like the exterior of this slightly better even if it does look less "premium" because the S10's glass on the backside of the phone just smudges and scratches. Also, the phone is about 6.7oz or so, so it's heavier than the S10 by about a half oz. In terms of the other elements of comparison I noted: RAM is 4gigs vs the Galaxy's 8 gigs, and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 is definitely a more budget processor vs the Galaxy S10's processor specs. The biggest though is the screen resolution at 1612x720 vs the Galaxy's 1440x3040. The PPI (pixel density) is essentially half that of my old phone, so I definitely notice that in watching videos, and I'm sure you will too if you're going from a more "premium" brand. The good? The camera at 50mp vs the Galaxy's 10mp, the battery at 50mAh which is bigger (but no wireless charging), the screen size, the exterior styling which I actually like, and of course the elephant in the room which is price. Is this a good deal for the price? Absolutely. I will be keeping mine. Though the specs aren't as good in critical areas vs my old phone, nothing beats owning your phone outright at only $150 and not having to be tethered to a network or make payments. So is it worth it? Absolutely. Just don't expect it to perform at the levels of any "premium" brand in terms of multitasking or expect the same kind of beautiful granularity on videos. It's a budget phone, after all, so expect some compromises, but it gets the job done and again, the price is only about 1.5x the *monthly* cost of buying a premium phone from Verizon etc. So literally, after about 2 months it's basically paid for itself vs buying a "premium" brand phone direct from the big networks.

Moto G Power 5G 2024 Received new unlocked phone, put my Boost Mobile sim in turned it on and used the included usb cable to transfer the files and settings over from my previous phone, a Moto G Fast from 2021. (I did not have contacts, photos, etc. backed up to the cloud) It works good. Had it 5 days and so far it is great for the price. Update: Now just skip to the end. My ringtone assignments were not transferred from the old phone - all using the default. I had to go manually add mp3's as ringtones and assign them to individuals. Also my alarms the same thing. It upgraded to Android 15 and I'm not sure how I like some things about Android 15 compared to the Android 11 that I was using previously. Eventually Android will be more bloated and full of idiotic (dis)improvements that hamper you than Windows if it isn't already. I really like the Moto Gestures but not a fan of the power button being reconfigured by default. The camera seems ok but no better than the 4 year old one with many less megapixels. Didn't notice anything new in the camera software or photo editor from the 4 year older one. Not sure but I think that I took some pictures that were verified with the shutter sound but then no pictures were in the album. I am saving camera pics to the micro sd card. I will keep an eye on this to see if its an actual issue. No charger/power plug is included. No USB A to USB C cable is included. A USB C to USB C cable is included. Good for phone to phone transfer or if you have a USB C female plug or PC/Tablet with USB C port. So I am using my 4 year old charger and cable even though I don't think its rated for as quick of charging as the new phone. I may have to get a 30W charger plug and cable or 15W charging pad. Its been a few months now. The phone still works good. As with all phones and connected devices now, the apps on it collect and send a lot of data on your wifi and using your bandwidth and data cap. I've been using the Gemini AI that comes up when you press the power button. Its hit or miss and you always have to know when to tell it its wrong and then it says "oh, you're right, I'm sorry". It uses much, much more power so a charge that would last 2 days normally will last, literally, 3 or 4 hours of chatting with the Gemini AI about anything, useful or not. Google keeps insisting that I backup my photos and such to their cloud but I don't want to - its not secure and they haven't paid me to use my data for training their AI that they are using to make billions of dollars off of as they jettison more and more employees, bankrupting the whole system, so why should I give it away for free? No, I just copy them to my PC instead, its much, much more private and secure. No need for a secretive shady middle man making like Igor stealing people's corpses in the night LoL. If Google wants data for training purposes we can discuss payment and usage terms. Until then, greedy hands off! OK so the last time I used my phone I was met with a notification from Android that my age could not be verified and so it changed parental controls and other settings on my phone. It did not give any other info. Coincidentally, the next time I went to YouTube on my PC, a message popped up that said my age couldn't be verified by Google AI so it is treating my account as a child account. If I didn't like it, send a copy of my driver's license to prove my identity and age. So it doesn't take a crystal ball to see the connection and know Google has treated me like a child and locked me out of my own phone based upon faulty AI output. Is this the Twilight Zone? I don't know but I'm not sending a copy of my license anywhere to fix Gemini Ai's mistake. I am online ordering an iphone now and thought I'd also update this review to let people know about Android and Google's ability to change settings on your own devices based upon some faulty AI logic or glitches or hallucinations or whatever they choose to call it. I call it my life.

4.5 stars, great budget phone. The one I'm using now is probably over two years old. I bought/ordered a new one (same phone) to replace it almost 10 months ago but just haven't gotten around to switching phones and it's still chugging along just fine, a little older a little slower but not annoying enough to make switching phones a priority. It's working just fine, I cannot think of any glaring deficiency at 2 years plus and I have a new one bought on Black Friday (10 months ago - same model) to take it's place. Who wants to make payments or spend 1k$+ on a cell phone? NOT ME! This phone works fine and you can pay more for diminished returns or clout or a brand, waste of money if you ask me. Scared to buy one that's cheaper, but I might try. Motorola G Power is getting worse though, each model takes away instead of getting better I will NOT buy the next version, 2025? It's noticably worse, and this one is not as good as it's predecessor in it's heyday.

I’ve been using the Motorola Moto G Power (2026) for a little while now, and it’s easily one of the most impressive budget phones I’ve owned. I also get the sense that I haven’t even pushed it to its full potential yet. The first thing that stands out is the battery life. It’s genuinely exceptional. With regular use, I’m going several days without needing to charge it—sometimes close to five days—which is a huge upgrade compared to my previous Moto Stylus that needed daily charging. If battery life is a priority, this phone absolutely delivers. The camera performance is another strong point. Photos come out sharp and well-balanced, especially in good lighting. I personally recommend installing Open Camera—I’ve used it from day one and prefer shooting in pro mode, which really helps unlock more control and better results. It also has water-repellent protection, which adds peace of mind against splashes and light rain. Performance has also been smooth overall. The RAM Boost feature is a nice addition, helping apps stay responsive and multitasking feel seamless for everyday use.
