Nice light, warm and bright, but the timers creeps a little. Not terrible, though. Easy to set up, screws and sticky mounting tape included (depending on how you want to mount them). I have several of these for several types of my most hardy plants: a jade, a Tradescantia pallid (wandering jew), a spider plant, and a lipstick plant. They are all doing fine and putting on new foliage and the spider plant is blooming. 12/12/2020: I've let the lights run for several months. They have been very very low maintenance and worked as intended. One of the wall USB plugs, however, has failed. The light works if I plug into other USB power supply/ plug ins. I am changing my review to 5 stars, since the rest of the lights have been great. I'll give the power supplies 3 stars, though, since 2 of them have failed. 8/24: A new light arrived very promptly. I have the new one plus a couple others of this style, so far they're working fine, but it has only been a couple weeks. I am tentatively changing the star rating to 3 right now, due to the repeated requests of the seller to update my review, but will change higher after 3 months if none of the rest fail in that time frame. 8/10: Seller contacted me and offered a replacement or refund, I would assume as a result of my review. Very nicely done! I chose replacement and will update this review in a few months once I see how the replacement fares. 8/8: Nice light, warm and bright, but the timer creeps and did not reliably turn on. Worst of all, just stopped working at all after 3 months. Will not turn on at all, tried unplugging and a different outlet. Sad, because it had the features I liked. ... show more

Very basic options. Very basic controls. Not really a bad thing because basic means simple. Timer doesn't work well for me. Think the time periods are either meant for this to be supplimental light for indoor plants only. I would need different settings for aquarium... but luckily I have $4 timers that fix that. The brightness settings are a little... odd (50% up to 100%, back to 50%, then 49% down to like 10%) but having 5+ brightness modes is nice. I can live with it, I normally have it on 24/7 at about 40%. Pretty low power draw. I haven't compared to anything else, but seems comparable to others in the led strip category. I think slightly lower based on the specific LEDs used, but not by much. Comes with decent power adapter, some stick on tape, and has little mounting screws that should hold it (I'd use both if you can). Nothing fancy, but decent for a cheap light. Was honestly surprised to see a USB charger in the box, let alone one I don't throw away immediately as a fire hazard. Don't know if this exact light style is great for plants, but it was a purchase for some DIY aquarium lighting to grow moss. The coloring is comfortable enough to leave on at night (50% or less) in a bedroom. ... show more

Very happy with this straight out of the box. If this doesn't disappoint me in a few months time I'll be getting a few more. I was a bit concerned at first, since the packaging is very minimal and the instructions were wedged in the bottom so I thought they were absent until I searched for them. Pros: Nice and bright (with dimmer options if desired) beautiful sunlight colored light that doesn't distort colors decently long cord with control placed at a good midpoint for most applications super low profile easy installation with several options included (I'm testing the adhesive strips for now, with plans to use mounting screws if needed) decent coverage without being too bright around the edges of the light source Cons: timer doesn't have a 12 hour setting controls are not intuitive; instructions are needed unless you've used a similar light before and know it well split reinforcement thing is a bit chunky-it's hard to hide behind a tank sitting close to the wall I currently have this set up with one light shining into a 15 gallon terrarium, and one mounted to the underside of the shelf below it for the potted plants on the floor. All plants have been surviving near a west facing window for several months, but none were thriving and as winter set in they were beginning to to look very sad. I'll update if it seems this turns things around for them. I love how slim these lights are, and the fact that they aren't painfully bright around the edges (one is just sitting on the glass terrarium lid at about eye level) and I will absolutely plan to order another set for my next terrarium build if the plants like them as much as I do. UPDATE: I'm roughly at the one year mark now. I still appreciate this light, and while I considered removing a star, I decided to leave it because my complaint about it is easily remedied. The good: My begonias, monstera, cryptanthus, and creeping fig LOVED this light being added. It changed them from just hanging on to thriving in a few months time. It brought the bright pink color back to the cryptanthus. The creeping fig finally started growing. All my plants got bigger and bigger. About 5 months ago I took the terrarium apart to build a bigger one, so I now have both strips mounted to the underside of the shelf for my floor plants. My Monstera has grown nearly the height of the door frame. I have to hack the begonias back every few months. Plants would give this 5 stars. The bad: I started getting some flickering and sometimes the light just would NOT turn on. I finally got fed up with it and cut the switch out and spliced the wires back together with electrical tape. I wasn't really USING the switch most of the time anyway, because the timer didn't run long enough and I cannot stand the blinking light it has when set. I was using the on/off button though, and now that's gone. This fix kept me going only another few weeks before the power converter ALSO went out. That's an even easier fix (and perhaps replacing it from the beginning would keep the switch from going bad?) since you only need to plug the USB into another power converter. I've been running it this way for a month now with no further issues. Overall, I still recommend it or the price. I have a ton of old converters from past cell phones that work just fine, so this isn't a deal breaker for me. My rewiring job is holding up ok, and honestly I was tempted to do it from the beginning because the bright glowing blue light that's on whenever it's plugged in bothered me a lot being really close to my bed. ... show more

I purchased these lights 10 months ago, and they already have stopped working. While they were working, it was easy to use and they were consistently helping my plants grow. However, I'm disappointed with the quality, given it did not last very long.

I use these as grow lights. While they aren't broad spectrum, they do the job well enough. I had 2 quit on me after a year when it's 50,000 hours guarantee and customer service sent me new ones. Very nice company to work with
