I really didn’t know how my experience of this pump would go. I needed it quickly, and I needed it to arrive and work without trouble. I decided to purchase a bale grapple for my skid loader. I’m a one man farming operation so you can only imagine how big of a life saver this has been. My skid loader does not have AUX hydraulic ports, so I went a different route. With that being said, this hydraulic unit is the center of the whole thing. Without it, it’s useless. The item arrived a lot sooner than expected. Within a week. Tracking was not accurate. FedEx actually said that the label had been unreadable and they replaced it. When it arrived it was in perfect shape. Excellent packing. It came with a total of 3 sets of hydraulic fitting adapters. Many reviews say that you must buy 1/4” BSPP adapters to NPT, so I did. While the pump is actually 1/4” BSPP, yes, it does come with adapters. I ended up using the JIC adapters that came with the pump. From there, I went to my local Rural King and bought 3/8” hose, 3/8” NPT adapter fittings to the JIC, and adapter fittings to the cylinder I needed to plumb it to. The pump did not come with mounting bolts or main battery cables. You will need to supply those yourself. For battery cables I used 6 GA. The mounting bolts at 8mm. One feature I did not expect, is for the controller to have a magnet back on it. That works nice to attach to my skid loader operator station for easy reach. With Mobil 424 hydraulic fluid that I use in every machine I own, the pump works fast and great. I use it from all angles, being mounted on a skid loader attachment. So far so good, and I have handled about 300 bales with it so far, loading and then unloading. I will update this as time goes on and share my experiences, but this has so far been a great unit. 👍

I ordered the pump and had it on shelve for a month before had time to install after installing it does not work i order a different pump and work this pump in junk and no customer service save your money they junk !!!!!!

My review is for a double acting, 6 qt. Steel tank unit. Unit arrived as described (for the most part, more on that later). Well packed in a box that appears dropped shipped. The unit appears to have a small slathering of some type of packing grease or oil to keep it from corroding. All parts are intact and nothing missing. Tank welds all appear to be properly done, no leaks as of yet. The unit works as intended. Fat red lead to battery positive. Fat black lead from stud on body of motor to battery negative. I deducted a star because of the description for these hydraulic units are all misleading. The fittings are not SAE - but rather 1/4” BSPP - British Standard Parallel Pipe fittings. They are NOT NPT. While 1/4” NPT may “fit”, the threads in the body of the unit are parallel or “straight” threads vs. tapered. Parallel threads are more common in hydraulic systems because they rely on a gasket or o-ring to seal and tend to be more serviceable than tapered threads which rely on crushing threading surfaces, possibly causing thread damage, to seal properly. While you can force fit a tapered thread into the parallel thread and use some Teflon tape or sealant, you’re better off doing it right and getting an adapter and not damaging the threads. Yes it is added cost, but that’s a part of DIY! You can get BSPP to “your fitting” adapters from a number of places online if you can’t find what you need here on amazon or your local hydraulic shop. I spent about 10 bucks for two fittings to adapt from the fittings on the unit to my application which made things much easier. If you don’t know what you’re doing, your local hydraulic vender will gladly take your money to get things going for you.

The media could not be loaded. Arrived packaged well with no shipping damage. Simple install. Battery positive connects to the large solenoid post (see photo, red cable), battery negative connects to the large post on the backend of the motor (see photo, black cable). The fitting adapter that came with replaces the installed fitting, it fits into the pump outlet and accepts a -6 JIC Female swivel. The pressure relief valve on this one ( the pressure setting screw is the lower one) was fully out and required loosening the lock nut and a metric Allen wrench to turn it in, I needed to turn it completely in to the stop to achieve full pressure and then tightened the lock nut and reinstalled the cap nut for the adjustment screw. The upper screw is for setting the flow allowed when the lowering solenoid is active (this is used to adjust how fast the hydraulic fluid is allowed to return to the reservoir and requires the same metric Allen wrench, turning it in slows the flow). The switch pendant work fine, I will be installing a weather proof connector ito the side of the box to allow easier access with the box closed and locked. So far I have loaded the dump bed with 5 large loads in excess of 8000 lbs and the pump unit had me issues supplying enough flow and pressure to lift it quickly and smoothly. My system has a 3.25 inch cylinder (see the video). At max pressure had no leaks or seepage at the pump unit. I did add a fitting to the tank to accept a 3/8 inch rubber line from the dead end of the cylinder but a simple breather/filter would also work just fine.
