I purchased this item to replace a much cheaper unit that wore out after 15 years of service. This unit mangles unfrozen meat. At the end of the instructions for use, the manual says meat and fish must be frozen and slightly thawed before use - the product page on Amazon says nothing about this. The plastic pins on the food pusher will not hold the food steady as it passes through the slicing disk leaving it to spin away or fall off the end of the tray on retraction. The food platform does not slide smoothly or evenly back and forth when cutting - rather it binds and skips. I threw the unit into the trash after the first attempted use.

The media could not be loaded. I got this slicer to use for cheeses and meats. I have a very small kitchen and wanted a space saver. This one works great and folds down flat to take up almost no space at all. This has two safety features. There's a double lock button/switch to start the blade, and also a hand guard that has to fold up before the tray will slide to the blade. The housing is metal and cleans up easily. All the parts come off easily for quick cleaning. The slicing thickness is adjustable via a knob on the back. It is easy to adjust. The blade speed is not adjustable. It only runs at one speed. It is about half as powerful/fast as commercial slicers I've used, but it will definitely still meet my household needs. I did hand wash the entire thing prior to using it, but as you can see in my video it still left gray streaks on my cheese, so I would suggest maybe scouring the blade or slicing a potato on it before slicing anything costly. The best thing about this slicer is that it folds down flat for storage. If it took up space like a regular slicer I wouldn't be able to fit it in my kitchen. It's very stable in use. I have no complaints.

I got this meat slicer because I wanted consistent thin sliced meats, cheeses and veggies. It is able to mostly deliver that and I am very happy with it and the fact it is foldable, as I had previously received one that wasn’t that I didn’t have counterspace to keep. It requires a good clean and regular cleaning. I also have found that I need to be strategic with how and what is cut. I recommend freezing your food first for a better and more even cut, as that is what has worked best for me. The meat slicer is very simple to use, just plug it in, adjust the slice thickness, and press the power button. The stainless steel blade is very sharp, and it has cut everything I have put it through with ease. The food tray is large enough to hold a decent amount of food but you need to be strategic with both what you use and how you place it as it is not a commercial cutter. Overall, I think this is a good meat slicer for home use, especially if you have limited space and a budget. It is convenient, versatile, and easy to use.

Be careful when opening, the blade is not attached and fell out and almost hit my husbands foot! Once we got it set up we were surprised at how well it worked. The blade rotates much slower than you see the ones at the deli, but we aren't professionals so that is probably a good thing. You are able to adjust the thickness of your slices by easily rotating a knob. Also, you need to put a plate or something down behind it to catch the slices.
