  • OEM Quality Ball Joint
This part is from the same supplier as OEM. It is better than the OEM part since it has a grease fitting, and thus can be serviced. I installed this part on my 1996 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 with 3.4L V6 engine. The part fit perfectly and has functioned well on my truck (has about 2 months of use to date).

  • Replace if you're seeing wear, this is a good product
I can't really say anything negative about this joint. It's very well-built (better than OEM, it seems), the price is more than fair, and install is a cinch. If you think your LBJ's are running out of life, REPLACE THEM. This particular Toyota design fails catastrophically. It doesn't happen extremely often, but I've seen it more than once that a LBJ will completely fail and send the front of your vehicle straight into the ground. A lot of people swear by OEM for LBJ's, but as far as I can tell, the manufacturer of these Moog joints is the same as the manufacturer for many of the other Toyota joints on the market, including the OEM joints (555). BOTTOM LINE This is a high quality product that is well worth the price if you are seeing wear on your LBJ's. You don't want those to fail with this design, as a failure will result in MUCH more significant suspension work. ... show more

  • Not as pictured! Roll of the dice if you'll get 555 brand.
The photo shows Sankei Three Five 555 branded ball joints, what showed up was not 555. I ordered this hoping to get lucky and receive 555 brand, because Sankei 555 is a factory supplier for Toyota. You get the same OEM quality for half the price of the dealer. With the design flaw of first gen Tacomas it is really important to buy the best quality lower ball joint you can because the vehicles weight hangs from the joint, constantly wanting to pull the joint apart. Lower quality ball joints can result in catastrophic failure, allowing the joint to come apart while driving... I did source the same Moog part # at a local Advanced Autoparts, they had both sides in stock and both driver and passenger side were marked Three Five 555 Made in Japan as pictured here on Amazon. The boxes and information printed on them were all identical, the contents inside were not. I think it's a roll of the dice what Moog puts in the box, it seems like they have 2 different suppliers for this part and it's completely by chance what you'll get. Since I found what I wanted locally I will be sending this one back. I did pay $30 more at the autoparts store, but still half the price of the Toyota dealer. ... show more

  • Lower ball joint
Purchased this ball joint because of the Moog brand name. Fit perfectly as expected. Made in Japan tag was in the box.
