Description

The Fling-ama-String Cat Toy hangs on any standard door knob. It is battery- operated and can run for hours. A long string is sewn to a soft, flat elastic "conveyor belt" which constantly rotates to bring the string out and then back in. Even if the string is caught, the string will automatically begin to rotate again after it has been released! The toy has 2 speeds to satisfy the frisky or faint feline. The Fling-ama-String was a "Best New Products Showcase winner" at the Global Pet Expo. Takes three AA batteries (not included).

Five stars simply aren't enough for the Fling-a-ma-String! I've owned countless cat toys over the years, but nothing has captivated my two kitties, Milo and Lucy, quite like this. It's a non-stop, hilarious frenzy of feline fun! Milo, my more solitary hunter, loves to stalk and pounce on the string when it's moving slowly. He gets this intense, focused look in his eyes, like he's channeling his inner jungle cat. Lucy, on the other hand, is a social butterfly, and she ADORES playing with Milo when I start the toy. They chase the string together, batting at it with their paws, and even take turns trying to catch it mid-air. It's the cutest thing to watch! They've developed this whole elaborate game around it, and it keeps them entertained for hours. What's truly fantastic about this toy is its versatility. It satisfies both their individual play styles—hunting—and their need for interactive play. Whether they're playing together or independently, the Fling-a-ma-String keeps them engaged and active, which is wonderful for their physical and mental stimulation. And let's talk about Moody Pet! I was absolutely blown away by their customer service. After a few months of intense play (and believe me, Milo and Lucy are intense!), the elastic strap started to show some wear. I emailed Moody Pet, and they sent me replacement parts completely FREE of charge! I mean, who does that anymore? It's clear they stand behind their product, and that kind of generosity and customer service is incredibly rare. If you have cats, you NEED this toy.     • Wonderful cat toy and wonderful product support!
A kitty of mine, that has since passed away loved this toy for several years, and she loved ALL parts of it, as she not only chewed up the rotating elastic with the string attached, but also the black elastic strap that goes around the door to secure the entire toy. After she was gone, I sadly put the toy away, but I now have two new furry bosses, and one really likes this toy. The manufacturer promptly replaced the rotating elastic a few years ago, and is sending me a new door holder elastic now. When they say lifetime guarantee, they mean it! Talk about durability! Sadie played with this toy from 11-2017 until she passed 10-2021. I am a small animal vet and have told several of my kitty parents about this toy, as part of enrichment for their little furry friends. If your cat loves strings, this toy is for them! ... show more

    • Moody Pet Fling-Ama-String There is the good, the bad
Moody Pet Fling-Ama-String There is the good, the bad, and the ugly. Here is a video of the product in use by our cats: https://youtu.be/ToaswG2PeZY This was on the first day of use. They were very interested. One of our cats, the orange/buff colored one rarely likes to play with the other two. So I believe this product is great. She keeps on going to that door and asking for more play time with it. I am very happy about this. The Good: It does great work grabbing the attention of cats The varying speeds are great The extra "anchor" with the elastic strap to go around the door is very VERY necessary The Bad: This does require owner's attention. Do not think that you can leave your cats alone with it on. They could hurt themselves or their paws. I have noticed a couple times my cats will put their paws on the belt itself. Seems to suck the life out of batteries. Get rechargeable ones so that it is more cost effective (Rechargeables will cost just about as much as this device. The motor does seem "strained" at times and can sometimes make clicking sounds. Not sure if that is the motor or the belt. The Ugly: My cats will catch the string, which is great. But the worst part is they will PULL on it. The motor or belt will make a high pitch screeching sound like nails on the chalkboard. I realize this may not be fixable by the manufacturers, but that is definitely something to consider. This thing is NOT quiet but that hasn't deterred our cats. Just remember that our cats our a little bit more aggressive than some others. Also, I gave this item 4 stars. I do not have much hope that it will last for a whole year, with that said the price is optimal for what you get. It got one of the cats, who doesn't play much, to play and ask for more fun. I definitely would recommend this item again. If they would get rid of the screeching sound from the motor I think I would've given this product a shining 5 star review.
