Already had several earbuds and headphones but was looking for an open-ear setup to fill a niche. I wanted something I could wear and listen to music while still being able to hear important sounds such as when walking in busy areas. While cycling and working out I use a set of Shokz Openrun bone conducting headphones and they're great to still be able to have decent situational awareness while listening to music but they have a fairly big case that makes them less handy to tote around on a whim. Alternatively while compact and easy to carry, even with the "ambient noise" function on my Sony noise-canceling earbuds still have a muffled effect just due to them being in-ear and blocking your ear canal. I tried the Bose Ultra Open earbuds first but while the audio quality was excellent for open-ear earbuds I was disappointed by how poorly they secured to my ears. Any decent jostling and one would fall off - something that's really concerning at their very high price point. While looking for alternatives I stumbled on these Monster AC601s on sale and couldn't be happier. The audio quality is less than the Bose Ultras but more than good enough for my needs (they have less volume and bass than the Bose but even the Ultras don't have great bass - not a surprise with their small size and open ear nature). The security in how they fit is way better though because of the two large rounded ends that fit securely in and behind your ear. They felt very comfortable while wearing them during hours-long workouts and never felt like they'd fall off at anytime. Putting the Monsters on was also much easier thanks to their longer bridge portion versus the small one on the Bose. They also look more stylish IMHO than the Bose Ultras with the gold Monster logo and the slimmer profile of the band connecting the two end pieces. If you were attracted to Bose for the "earring" look, I think the Monsters pull it off way better. The case looks better too than the plain plastic Bose one. The only thing the Monster is lacking for me is an app to control the sound quality and allow for future firmware updates like the Bose Ultras and my Sony earbuds and headphones. It's not a big loss though since they're perfectly functional without it. One important caveat though is that I got these Monsters on sale at a fraction of their original price which made them price competitive with similar cheaper open earbuds like the Anker Soundcore C30i. Since I wasn't sure how long the sale would last I bought an extra pair since they were so cheap and at the sale price they are a five-star buy. At their full retail price of $150 though they're a harder recommendation since there are much cheaper alternatives like the Ankers and slightly more expensive but more full-featured rivals like the Huawei Freeclip. For full retail I'd say they're a three-star rating at best but if Monster offers them again on sale I'd say snap one up without hesitation.

Feels comfortable, sounds great if you read how to put em in ur ears correctly , if not it will sound terrible. Nice buy. Ok just did a 20 mile cycling ride in this wind and I'm impressed. These are definitely a good pair for me when cycling. Rode metra and was still able to hear my music also rode trail next to lakeshore drive doing busy traffic and music was clear and loud enough for me. Now I want the black pair.

I feel like Monster's quality has gone down from when they first got popular. These headphones fit well, you can hear what's going on around you while listening, and I really liked the color. I had them about 2 weeks and they fell out of my backpack as I was sprinting to catch the bus. But that's no one's fault but mine. I ordered a replacement pair that day that weren't a name brand and half the cost of the Monster (even with a 75% discount on Amazon for the Monsters). The replacement pair is louder, crisper, and still comfortable to wear all day. I only used the Monster's buds maybe 2-3 times with phone calls and they functioned quite well. They're good, not great and there are better value buds available.

Got these on sale for $39.99 and sending back. No app. No eq. They are quiet at full volume. They are ABSOLUTELY super comfy for clip ons - like so much so I want to keep them just for that. They sound tinny - zero bass. They make a very distorted sound when the bass hits so they are anti-bass. Clip-ons in general are not the best for music, I know this. However - for $49.99 JLab flex comes with a great app that lets you customize eq , play ambient noise of preselected categories , you can combine forest and sea shore for example , or play them individually. They are WAY louder but not as comfy. Oh and the touch controls on the monster buds are super super precise - I can never quite touch in the right spot - making me feel like a California politician. 😂 the monsters are flat , tinny , quiet , and touch controls are too pinpointed on the buds. Super comfy and I like the look but man the audio is bad.sadly I’m Returning.

This is a really cool idea from Monster. They do have some wide range of electronics. My earbuds always fall out when I'm at the work , walking and in meetings and that's super annoying. I just wish these had a way to get an even tighter fit, but honestly, these earbuds exceeded my expectations . The sound isn't that great but it's definitely great product for back up, but for the price, it's totally decent. You get what you pay for.

So easy to use!! I’ve had dozens of AirPods but I have the worst luck of losing them and these work just as well! I’ve been able to accept calls use them for long periods of times without my ears hurting!! The cuff onto your ear and they have not fallen once, I don’t charge it too often and it never dies! Great value headphones for the price, once you put the ear buds on it connects to your phone immediately. Would definitely get another one in another color as a back up!

So I bought these & received them on May 6 & it is now only May 16, 10 days later and they seem to have become unpaired from each other. I can only listen to one at a time now and the volume is kinda low so having the other one would help a lot. I do have to put whatever I'm watching at max volume if I want them open ear or shove them into my ear canal when it’s too noisy around me. I bought them because they're aesthetically pleasing but definitely not worth the $30. I've bought $20 ones that worked better (my husband lost them). Hopefully i can figure out how to pair them to each other. Update May 26: So I reached out to the company and still haven’t heard anything back unfortunately. For this reason I deducted some stars.
