This is NOT what I was expecting. The neck was smoother than I expected. None of the frets were unfinished along the edge. The finish is silky smooth. Swapped the strings to some Ernie Ball Super Slinky strings. It plays like velet and sounds like it too. It will need a set up and the intonation adjusted. Other than that. I purchased this Strat copy to play with my guitar playing partner in musical crimes. He recently got a Master Built, Gibson ES-335 to play, and I have 3 Telecaster style guitars that I use to balance the soundscape of his collection of Fender Strat-o-caster's. The sounds of the 2 guitars blend well together and my inexpensive Strat plays in-tune and stays in tune when paired with his Gibson humbucker equipped guitar. Everything works, and with very few adjustments, I now have a functioning stage worthy Strat at a price I can afford. It plays well and sounds like a Fender.     • Why buy a Squire Affinity Stratocaster?

This guitar is wonderful regardless of price. I just bought one of the newly updated (2021) Squire Affinity Blonde Stratocasters with a maple neck for $260. This Indio Monoprice looks, feels, and sounds the same. The necks on both are very similar. They are chunkier necks than the original Affinity Series. Both necks also have a satin finish on the back. There is no skunk stripe however on the Indio. I am considering selling my new Squire Affinity on eBay and keeping this one. I have been playing for 20+ years and this guitar is a steal. It came setup perfectly with no imperfections in the paint or neck. The tremolo bar was missing from the box however. But I do not use this, so no harm there. I would say the tuners and bridge are better on the Squire. But overall very happy with the Indio Monoprice Stratocaster. ... show more

Just awesome. Had to give up my ol Gibson Les Paul at 13 pounds. Sold it because there are no kids interested. This strat copy is just perfect. No bad frets. Nice and smooth. Intonation/setup was perfect and light 10 guage strings don’t buzz. Seems well shielded. After strings strech it stays in tune unless you wail with the whammy bar. No hum from a 50 watt Marshall. It cooks. But remember, there are no fat sound humbuckers, and no big humbucker growl. Almost considering having a seymour fitted in to the neck position. Then again, I would lose the Hendrix flavor. ... show more
