  • Works Great
I don't write many reviews but I am very impressed with this device. Smart design, easy to set up, operation is simple. It doesn't try to do too much but does what it's supposed to very well and reliably. I will be buying more for other toys. If you can find space for something the size of a small cell phone (do not encase in metal which can block signal) you can protect any vehicles, tractors, trailers, Bikes, ATVs, or even other types of cargo. When I had a question the company was super responsive and helpful, refreshing in this day and age. If I had to nit pick, the paper instructions that come with it are pretty weak, lol, but don't worry there is excellent instructions online and in their app. It does depend on cell service for much of it's useful operation (it uses multiple providers) so if you live completely out of service that could be an issue (though it would still be useful if stolen vehicle enters an area with service). Other considerations, I dislike ongoing costs and subscriptions, even for movies or TV, so most of the trackers out there I rejected immediately for costs of $20 US or more per month. This unit runs just $4 US a month for ongoing tracking service and for all it does I can live with that. I should also mention that wired in units kill your battery if vehicle unused, and the other battery units I've seen have claimed battery life anywhere from just a few days to 3 weeks, this one can last for a year or more. Did a real world test today and was very impressed with the accuracy and reliability. Purposely drove it through areas with known poor phone service and only received one update with an estimated location rather than GPS, even that one was surprisingly close (if GPS is momentarily unavailable it will triangulate an estimate from cell towers). If cell service is lacking at Monimoto's location the unit will still record the location and transmit it when possible. Amazingly when I zoomed in the map most of the received locations were so good they even showed the pin on the correct side of the road for the direction I was travelling. To borrow a line from the classic movie (My Cousin Vinny) I found this unit to be "dead balls accurate" : ) The timing of the incoming reports was a bit uneven though timely, and that may have been due to my own phone service passing them through. The variance was not great, just a minute or so this way and that. Also, it is not just a geofence which requires the bike to move a certain distance before alarming, any movement will trigger the alarm even if the bike's location hasn't been moved. I love that the first alert when alarmed comes with an actual phone call as most of us are used to ignoring message alerts at times. The more I learn the more I am impressed by the thinking and design that went into this system and software, including having the controls and tools to deal with non-standard situations like 'bike stolen with keyfob', or 'left keyfob home'. Highly recommended. (Just for the record I have absolutely no connection to this company and bought the unit with my own money.) Update: This may be obvious to young techies but it took me a bit to discover and I didn't see it mentioned in documentation. (I am on android) When you are in alarm mode and receive a location from device it shows a pin on a Google map but that map is not the fully live google map. I didn't realize at first that if you tap the "pin" you get 2 choices, one takes you to the live google map where you can get satellite overlays, etc. , and the other lets you choose getting google directions directly to the plotted location pin. Just keep in mind playing with it as I have been will use up your battery quickly. I now have the confidence to leave it alone, and once a day it messages me to assure that that it is up and ready. Fantastic! As much fun as functional. PS: I noticed in another review from someone who had a bad experience with this device that there were a number of inaccuracies, it mentioned that "the bluetooth turned of as well" which seems to indicate he didn't operate it correctly as blutooth must be turned off for normal operation, indeed if you are connected to the device by blutooth and ride away from the keyfob to test it will not alert as blutooth is only used for setup and turned off for operating, also though you use the app for setup you do not "load up the app" to recieve alerts, rather when you recieve the alert you tap on it to open the app, further if there is no signal when it tries to alert it is false that it will wait till the next "wakeup", as long as it is moving and the keyfob is not present it will try to send every 5 min, if it stops moving it will report that, and after 30 min stationary will report again, after that it will only report at "wakeup" (which is a configurable parameter) unless it starts moving again, then it will go back to reporting every 5 minutes, I live in the north east boonies and it works quite well for me, just sayin ... show more

  • Works as described
Setup was easy and it works exactly as described. Love the peace of mind it gives me. Even after the other security measures it is nice to know I will be able to get a call the moment the bike leaves without me and I get frequent updates on its location.

  • Easy set up, dealer recommended, arrived quickly
Easy to set up. I think the hardest part about it was choosing the location on the bike in a way that people won't find it very easily. Set up took about 5 minutes as I live in metropolitan Seattle where cell signals are good. I attached a screen shot to show the app information which gives me all the information i need. This is a pretty basic set up that doesn't require it to be wired into the bike which is what I wanted. I've yet to contact customer service so I can't say it's good or bad but this was recommended by the dealership i purchased my bike from. So far, two thumbs up! ... show more

  • Very Easy to Set up and Use
The setup was very easy and the motion test went well, confirming that the device is properly installed in my motorcycle and paired to the fob. The tracking app is also easy to use for locating my bike's position. I love the fact that the tracker doesn't need to be wired to the bike's and that its own battery can last up to a year, as well as notifying me of low battery so I will know when to change it. ... show more

  • Not for the Northeast US. Keyfob arrived dead.
Edit: clarification for the "Bluetooth is off" for the other commenter. When you "Steal" the bike, your phone must have Bluetooth disabled or that application will see that the device is connected and not trigger and alarm I may be incorrect regarding the next alert time, but a 15 minute drive out, and back, without a single alert that the bike was stolen, nor any updates while it was in range of a Verizon and TMobile/Sprint cell reception, for the entire length of time is extremely poor quality. For those thinking about getting this device, I would still highly recommend getting a 50$ 300GL 4G(Low power 4g) device and eating the 200$ subscription cost. The device will always update the location of the vehicles. You won't need to worry about keyfob's for a shared bike or anything else AND it's smaller. It also has user selectable towers during setup. I've had mine for a couple months and it's been great. Keeps track of the trips, and you can set up a battery pack to directly wire into it. If you're good with electrical work you can wire a 12v to 5v step down, then to a USB type B connector and have the 300GL charging while you ride so you'll never have to worry about batteries. Original Review: Product arrived, and keyfob's tab to prevent discharge of the battery wasn't installed and the battery is dead. So now I have to buy another CR2450 battery and wait for that to arrive to finish set up. Cool. Additional, keep in mind since this is an e-sim only device you cannot use your own sim for a local carrier. So I recommend finding out who MoniMoto uses for cell towers. I can tell you they're not using Verizon, so it you're in the NE of the United States in an area primarily serviced from Verizon towers I highly recommend finding the version 6 and using your own sim card. Additionally if the device can't get a signal, it won't tell you if the bike was stolen. It won't attempt to get a signal until the interval set by the updates, which at a minimum is 1 day. So if the device loses it's connection then you're screwed unless you re-pair with the app and rerun the configuration. Overall the product's software needs attention. Dual sim support one e sim and one normal micro-sim. Actually attempting to continually reconnect when the device discovered in motion. Final Edit: I am returning the device. The towers this is allowed to use must be few and far between. Testing the device I "stole" my own bike. I rode 15 minutes away, loaded up the app and waited. Nothing. Bluetooth turned off as well. Two different carriers had full 4G. Nothing. This device will NOT attempt to reconnect to cell towers if it is in motion without the Keyfob. This is extremely unreliable and I'm not going to trust thousands of dollars with this product. I have decided to return it, and try the V6 and provide my own sim card. Final Edit V2: I have decided to go with a standard tracker by amcrest. (Gl300 or something, the white label device.) These devices don't care if the bike was stolen, it will constantly ping the location. With some electrical work you can attach a big ol battery, or just charge it once a week before a ride. ... show more

  • Peace of mind!
With all the money, time, effort, and love I've put into my bike, adding the comfort that comes from knowing it's safe was the best decision I've made. It's easy to set up, easy to hide on the bike, and very reasonably priced. I couldn't be happier!

  • if the motion sensor responds faster
It would be better if the motion sensor sensitivity can be improved. And respond faster once it detects some touching the vehicle, calling the owner immediately.
