I've been using Sakura Pigma Microns for years, and they are fantastic pens. However, the tips tend to wear out very quickly, particularly at the smaller point sizes. I don't have a heavy hand when I ink, so I think it's more just a factor of the delicacy of the tips. They're also expensive, so having to continually replace them can get painful. THESE pens though. I bought them on a whim because the price was right and I was looking for something that wouldn't hurt as much when they wore out on me. Imagine my surprise when not only do they perform EVERY bit as well as Microns, but the tips are holding up far better as well! I'm a convert. I will buy these pens forever. Sorry, Sakura. I was so excited to receive these pens. On the verge of retiring, I am beginning to resume my love of being artsy. These pens are great for drawing or fancy writing. On any type of paper the ink flows smoothly. No skips or blotches. I'm having a great time getting back in the art groove.

Product advertised and packaging indicate "Waterproof". The actual item however shows "water resistant". A quick wash over some test lines had good results however the Brush tip tended to bleed ink. Not a deal breaker- still a decent pen set for the price. Just don't use the brush tip for any artwork involving watercolor. ... show more

I got these for zentangle. I’m very new at it but these worked great. I have not used all of the larger ones yet but I enjoyed what I did use and got great results. Crisp, clear, smooth lines.
