I found these ‘shoes’ to fit tightly over my sneakers, but I would suggest that you use boots. They are hard to maintain your balance on a slope. Not a problem of the shoes but the operator. They work best on a lawn that is moist but not muddy.

Pretty good value for the price. I am not sure about using them for whole yard aeration since I have large yard, but if you are just overseeding a section or need to do a small section this is perfect for that. Too muddy and it will stick, to dry and it will be hard depending on soil, so try to find a balance in-between to make them easier to use and have less fatigue. The shovel is decent enough. The build quality is great overall, very sturdy. The spikes will eventually wear down and I am not sure how long the Velcro will hold up with all the dirt/mess that will inevitably get into the straps. I used them with rugged terrain shoes but would probably be better with a sturdy shoe like a work boot or hiking boot.

For me this did not serve the purpose I purchased it for. The boot gets clogged with grass and dirt very easily, so that at every 10' or so I had to stop and pick out the clog. This was exhausting.
