It is really good at blocking the wind and has a removable hood that is easy to take off and put on. The inside liner keeps you warm and is really soft. I really like the length of this coat. Zipper has held up nicely which is was worried about ut it is a sturdy zipper. Unsure on water proof but is wind proof. It's lightweight and so soft on the inside, the flap over the zipper works well and keeps the cold out and when it was raining the other day it definitely was water proof!
