The one issue we ran into when installing is that the wires weren’t marked in US codes so it took some extra work to figure out which wires should be connected to each color. The only complaint I have about the light is it’s pretty sheer so at night if the light isn’t on you can see the shadows of the light bulbs through the shade. I an a licensed interior designer. I installed this pendant drum light fixture over a nightstand in a rental property. It illuminates bedtime reading with task down lighting, creates space on the nightstand, and adds magical intimate ambient up-lighting to the room. (So much smarter than a bright overhead general ceiling light.) The 15 inch diameter of the round drum was almost the same size as the round nightstand, visually relating the two together. The fabric is a soft, cozy gray linen which gently illuminates when lit. I dropped the pendant 60 inches from the ceiling, but the cord was long enough to go further. My favorite part is the acrylic diffuser. It needed no parts to attach. It is designed to rest inside the bottom of the drum. This blocks the glare when you are sitting under it. Brilliant. My boyfriend was very skeptical about how "plain" the light looked, I told him to trust me on this. The directions could be better, I'm an Instructional Designer and even I had a difficult time following them. But we managed to figure it out. Once we got it up it looked great! This installed easily, the hardware for hanging was strong and not flexible. They have eliminated the green ground wire in the clear cable so that's no longer an issue to worry about. Be aware if you shorten the cord, you'll lose the wire markers for Hot/Neutral/Ground, so you'll either need to test, or strip the jacket off first before shortening so you don't lose your spot. The only critique is the seam in the shade is darker, but honestly given the cost for the fixture compared to other options I can live with it. Love it! It’s not easy to find affordable light fixtures or light fixtures that aren’t farmhouse in style(when is that trend going to die already?!?!?!) I really like it, my only issue was that all wires were encased in clear casings, there was no way to tell them apart. The directions were non existent, not really an issue but it may be for someone who has not installed a fixture before. ... show more
