The media could not be loaded. I haven't fully assembled it but open it to make sure it works and we love it. I will update the review once we give it to our son for his birthday and assembled it but as of now it exceeded our expectations. Material looks sturdy and delivery was fast .

    • Theoretically cool; practically, pain in the behind.

This chair offers many things -- head support, lumbar support, a lot of customization, and it lights up. The Modern Depot's chair struggles to deliver on these promises -- starting with the assembly. The box comes with one poorly designed page of instructions. Normally, this wouldn't be a big deal, but in this case, it is because the instructions are impossible to follow in many instances. Putting this chair together is not an intuitive process, and will require some improvisation on the part of the consumer. If you spend $180 on a chair, it should be easy to put together, and nothing should be left out, no? Personally, I also did not get some of the screws and straps that come standard with assembly. Luckily, I have a handyman in my household, so I was able to make it all work. Once assembled, you'll find the chair rigid. It moves accordingly -- the pneumatics and intricacies of the chair's movements are no problem -- but it has no give, no cushion. "Ergonomic" indeed. Finally, the matter of the lights. Personally, I'm a believer in "if it looks cool, it's worth it." Again, it is with great displeasure that I tell you that this chair doesn't live up to expectations. There is an auxiliary cable that comes in the back of the chair -- it connects to... the chair? It has no purpose, and just to connect these pieces, I had to cut a hole in the back of my chair to snake it through, because the length of the cable is not sufficient. To that point, the USB that comes in the chair is also disappointingly short. When I was finally able to plug it into something (no instructional sheet specifies if it needs to be plugged into your computer or not), the light show started. Admittedly, the lights look great, and the remote performed its task. However, sitting in the chair, you don't get to enjoy it. If you have around $200 to blow, and you don't like straightforward instructions, this is the chair for you. At least it functions as a chair. ... show more

It's furniture assembly, it's not for everyone. Easy for me and a perfect replacement. The cables tuck easily and are discreet. I worked around needing to dangle a cable by using a portable battery pack and just storing it in the back spot and done! The stitching seems somewhat light but I am not going to take it on a spin around the dunes so I think it should last me a couple years. The parts come in pretty oily so be cautious during assembly, oh and some parts seem like the look different from the illustration in the directions but it's all there. For me it was at least. Just wish it had an optional slip/cover as to help keep clean as the material will wear probably if you like to slip and slip on your chair. Aside the assembly and caution per other reviews, I can safely say that this is an awesome chair and does everything I need it to and more. It's just a chair after all. ... show more

Product instructions were difficult to understand. The stitching on the lumbar pillow was uneven and poor in quality. The chair itself is nice and wide and reclines a decent amount. The cord for the light strip could be longer but you could purchase a USB extender or an external battery pack. The finished product looks great and the LED strips have a number of different settings to complete the feel. Definitely one of the best values I found online for the money there was nothing even close to this nice. My Daughter loved this gift and posted it to her social media which got over 30k likes! Definitely would recommend this product ... show more

Very comfortable for the price. Instructions were simple even with no written dialog. I love the rgb but I have one issue, which others seem to have too. My remote doesn't work. It came with some broken English directions but it won't work. I see the LED on the remote light up when a button is pressed but nothing happens with the chair. Would give 5* but that was the main reason I bought the chair in the first place. **Edit** Contacted seller and received a response within hours. They attempted to troubleshoot the non-working remote but we ended up sending me a new remote. The new remote works perfectly and after a few weeks with the chair I couldn't be happier with it! ... show more

It is made fairly well compared to the more expensive chairs I have had. The only dislike I have is that the lumbar pillow doesn't come with any straps to adjust it and keep it in place, so holding it slightly up with my back gets a little weird sometimes. Other than that, it does the trick. I love the RGB. I did have to buy an extension for the USB so I can plug it into an outlet but that was only a few dollars extra. A powerpack also works but you have to recharge and go through that process so I'd rather not deal with that. If you do, there is a pocket to hide the wires in on the back of the chair so that comes in handy! :) ... show more

This is an amazing chair, comfortable but takes some getting used to at first, like any other gaming chair when converting from an office chair. The only unfortunate thing I could fathom is the fact that this needs to be plugged into a USB at all times to be on, however, an easy fix would just be a rechargeable battery. The directions were odd when I first scanned over them, a singular page of imagery and no text or dialogue to read. It's a fun exercise to recap on my first portion of the Alphabet when putting this thing together and took no time at all to build. I wouldn't listen to comments complaining about the complexity of instructions you just need to have a skill in reading images to tell what to do. 10/10 Very happy and worth the wait although it was a tad delayed. ... show more

1 of 2 of the chairs we ordered leans to one side when the chair rotates in that direction. After reassembling it several times, we determined it wasn't user error, just faulty. Not bad enough to return but some what irritating at times. I love the lights though. However the cable should be longer. 4/5 stars. ... show more
