Just got back from a Canoe trip up in Canada. This thing was very comfortable and did not prohibit movement at all. We hit a set of rapids and underestimated it. Capsized the canoe right in the middle of the the rapids. It was quite scary and a real life/death situation. This vest inflated immediately and helped keep my head above the water. The only con is that the directions don’t show how to deflate it. You have to push the “plus sign” that sits in the manual inflator tube.     • The spare air is more than fair!

I bought two similar life jackets last year but they only came with one CO2 cylinder each. When I needed another jacket this year, I found this one with the spare cartridge. I don't know why all manufacturers don't include the spare. I had to purchase the spares for about twenty bucks for two of them. If you go out on the water with a single cartridge and it accidently goes off (a spilled beer will do it, so I've been told) you don't want to be huffing and puffing trying to manually inflate your jacket when you're tossed overboard for spilling the last beer and the water is lapping at your eye brows and the sharks are circling.     • very uncomfortable and NON-RETURNABLE!!

This life vest feels uncomfortable if worn straight on your skin, but it's bearable with a T-shirt under it. It has a rough edge with velcro that rubs right in your neck and makes it hard for kayaking since the arms motion makes you rub your neck against that rough edge.... Most importantly, when I tried to return it, it says that the item is non-returnable because it comes with two canisters of compressed gas, which is not eligible for returns under Amazon policy. I wish they would ship the canisters separately so at least the vest would be returnable. Nonetheless, I used it in my last kayak trip, where the river current happened to turn me over, and the life vest inflated automatically and very fast. So, extra stars for that :-) ... show more

Used this on a trip to canadian rockies. Didnt have to pull the handle but nice knowing it is ready to go. I like how slim and unobtrusive these are. Barely notice they're on and none of that mostly wet smell after a day of use.

The warning signs are you can't be in the water for too long or they'll automatically so you can't float around and swim in them they can't get too hot because then they could also in-flight that just doesn't sound like something I wanna deal with so I just went back to the traditional life fest

These appear to be well-made price is right about them to use in my airplane went flying over water since the Chesapeake Bay gets pretty cold in the winter made one mistake and should have bought the ones that do not auto inflate for use in the aircraft will disable that feature on the ones I purchased ... show more
