Description

The year is 2307 A.D. While the Earth's reserves of fossil fuels have been depleted, humanity has obtained a new, nearly infinite source of energy to replace them in the form of large-scale solar-powered generation systems based on three huge orbital elevators. However, the benefits of this system are available only to a handful of major powers and their allies. These orbital elevators belong to three superpower blocs: the Union, the Human Reform League and the AEU. These confederations continue to play a grand zero-sum game for the sake of their own prestige and prosperity. Thus, even in the 24th Century, humanity has yet to unite as one. In this world of unceasing conflict, a private armed organization steps forward, declaring their intention to eliminate war through martial force. Using the power of their mobile suits combatively, a series of four high-performance machines each dubbed ''Gundam'', the paramilitary organization known as Celestial Being takes the world stage, beginning armed interventions within all the world's nations. Contains episodes 1-25; Bonus features: Clean Openings, Clean Endings, Tactical Forecasts, Japanese Audio Commentaries, Gundam 00 ''Daybreak's Bell'' Promotional Video, and Gundam 00 Flash-like Chibi Short Audio: Japanese LPCM Stereo, English LPCM Stereo; English subtitles; Video: 1080p HD native 16 x 9 widescreen.

  • An epic story that is both timely and memorable. Deft world-building.
Mobile Suit Gundam 00 takes the eponymous mobile suits and places them in a mature, grittier alternate 23rd century full of cold-war conflict and political intrigue. A huge and diverse cast of characters wind through varied storylines that ultimately converge against a backdrop of word-changing events. Thrilling, complex, and often brutal battle scenes are skillfully balanced with a sincere respect for the horrors and consequences of violent warfare. Fans of shows like "Game of Thrones", "Battlestar Galactica" and "Babylon 5" will find a lot to appreciate here. A large cast of characters who grow, develop and even sometimes die. Artful world-building throughout, beautifully visualized. Highly recommended! ... show more

Been waiting for this Blu ray release with Eng Dub. It's worth watching though for some reason this came out quickly before Seed and Seed Destiny got a blu ray release.

  • Good anime, but too much crying
This anime is really good and I’ve been a fan of Gundam for a long time. This series is step up above the rest in my opinion. The series reminds me of a reimagined Gundam Wing. Even a lot of the original Gundam Wing voices are here. I would love to see a remake of Gundam Wing similar to this, but with better dialogue and bit more brakes of light heated feelings. The problems with the anime as a whole in my opinion is saying the word “Gundam”too much. Also there are too many deaths and sad moments back to back. Too much loss and sadness. After watching both seasons it gets exhausting hearing unfinished phrases and too many pauses in speech… things like, “ does that mean…” “well then…” “could this be…” “I just…” “is the colonel going to…”…etc. too many questions with no true answers, just more fighting and questions. I truly appreciate the realistic views on world issues and ailments, as well as using real life concepts of war tactics and political deceit. The Gundams and characters are very easy to like, and the anime is very engaging all together. I simply wish this anime was more light hearted on loss and death, and had more light points… not too serious all the time. ... show more
