The media could not be loaded. 12KG Molten Master dual burner Furnace Kit "EDIT: This company is better then your quick pack drop shipping stores that sre expect on Amazon. Some good planning went into place with this set and I wouldn't recommened a different product / company to go with for a beginner." Failures: 1. The gloves only lasted through 1/3rd of the ingots shown. I RECOMMENED 1000 DEGREE KEVLAR 2. Ingot provided is TINY, see photos. 12kg is ~same volume as a cast iron bread pan. 3. The Fire brick provided for the crucible is in the condition shown after doing the ingot volume shown. 4. The tongs do not wrap around crucible as shown in photo. Tongs made for 18kg crucible. 5. The grips on the thongs are poorly secured. Pro: 1. Almost melted my stainless steel scoop spoon. So temp get hot, I have only done aluminum, but the heat temp is noticeable. 2. The adjustable gauge helps tone gas volume. 3. Very easy to assemble, operate AND pack up for storage. Upgrades recommened: 1. Gloves to kevlar, these will get you started though. 2. Ingot to cast iron bread pan.

A functional Furnace, but a few things to keep in mind: The honeycomb thing will break, they should give you a firebrick instead. Yes the little graphite ingot mold will break too. If it formed a trapezoidal prism instead of a rectangular prism the metal would come out easier, then you wont break it because your banging the mold against the ground trying to get your ingot out. Everything else is good. but you will need to get more equipment: lifting and pouring tongs. (the tongs provided are a bad idea for this task) Refractory cement (I found some at lowes) Propane and propane accessories obviously. The picture provided is what happens when your zinc catches on fire. You don't need to heat your zinc so hot like I did.

Super pumped about this product. Heavy duty, quality product. Very well-made cast iron. The crucible feels like it’s made of thick graphite and it is HUGE! (About the size of a mason jar) Everyone in the family is getting stuff made from melted metal this year for Christmas! My brain is already spinning with ideas. I got this to process scrap sterling and ingot my copper and aluminum piles. I've used electric ones and a larger propane furnace. This 6kg furnace is perfect to learn in and do small batches. Highly highly recommend you rigidize and apply refractory cement to the wool. It'll last longer, stay hotter, and you don't get fibers in the air. The base plate came cracked but customer service immediately offered a replacement without question. Top notch service is a plus! The price point is perfect to get into melting and comes with everything you need day one. Always preheat your molds, tools, and crucibles!
