    • Heavy & water container is a pain to remove
I would have given this product a 5 star rating if the water container was easier to remove. It's a pain in the tuckas to slide out! My fingers slide right off the grooves. The 1st time I removed the container, it slid right off, but the 2nd time it wouldn't come out. I struggled a lot. The instructions recommend that you either drain or remove the water container after each use. I don't think I will be doing that. It does leave my hair "frizz free" & smooth. The iron is also pretty heavy even without the water container filled. Oh & when I tried to use the insertable comb that comes with it, I couldn't get the iron through my hair. That might have been due to my hair having some hair spray in it, so I will try it again with no hair spray being in my hair. It's nice to know it's there to use if I want to. I am overall happy with it, for now. I may be premature on my review since I have only used it once. ... show more

I have been straightening my hair for 15+ years and have been very loyal to another brand. After the 3rd straightener broke I started looking for a new one with a comb. I found this on a list of highly rated straighteners with built in combs. It heats up super fast (less than 5minutes) and holds it's temp. My hair is thick and wavy and I always have trouble keeping the plates warm after one pass without doing the tiniest section of hair. This has not let me down after a week of use. My dislikes are that the stream feature goes on automatically. But you can shut it off when it's up to temp. I wish it was off unless you wanted to use it. And the control switches are where I'd normally have my thumb. The first time using it I turned it off due to the location. But I adjusted and can still use with no problem! It's also a bit bulky compared to my old straighteners so probably not the best for travel. ... show more

I went natural almost 5 years ago after a year of hairdressers messing my hair up causing me to cut off several inches and having a 3 inch spot in the center of my head. I haven't used heat except for hood dyers since then so I was pretty nervous to use this. I am a 4a/b low porosity if that helps. I only used this on my bangs to start and at 300, like I said I was pretty nervous haha. Honestly blow drying my hair out was more work than using this so I am super pleased. To start I used a heat protectant, blow dry , combed out and then pulled a small section very taunt and clamped down the iron and slid it down my hair. Make sure to read the instructions, there are a few steps needed before you can start using it. Like it needs 90 seconds after you add water and then 30 seconds to heat up and then 30 seconds of you clamping the iron without it being on your hair to start the steam. Bit of a pain but I'm sure it is important for it to work properly and last. My ends were a bit challenging, they needed to be cut and wouldn't straighten in one pass, took two or three well placed passes of the iron. I need to work on that but I think it won't be an issue with the rest of my hair since the bangs were very thin sections and not blunt cut like my hair. It got my hair silky and straight, not bone straight but it was only 300 degrees. It looked like a blow out but not as fluffy, I might use a higher heat next time. The comb inside stayed in place so I think other people got broken ones, check that yours isn't an issue. The real test was would my hair revert, and it did just fine. I am very excited to use this on my whole head as I think this is a safer and healthier way to get straight hair since it is using steam and my hair loves hot water and steam. I just wouldn't use it very high or often if you are concerned with heat damage. All in all I recommend this, it's not as expensive as other steam irons but does just as good of a job as them, maybe better based on the reviews I read and I read A LOT of reviews before buying this. ... show more

I am a Baby Boomer who likes long hair. Problem is, now that I'm post-menopausal, my hair is a lot dryer, and a bit thinner. When I wash my hair, even after using great shampoo and conditioner, my hair looks drab, bushy, and dry. SO...... I went looking for something that would rescue my hair. And found this amazing tool. It's a flat iron, that uses steam, and has a little comb. As you pull it through your hair, the steam makes it look so nice, and the comb helps keep your hair strands separated and smooth. I was afraid it would burn and fry my already dry hair, but it didn't. I use it at the lowest setting (300°F), and it's perfect. When I was done with my hair the first time, it was like the hands of time were turned back to my younger age when I had healthy shiny hair.!!!! I can't say enough good things about this flat iron. I am VERY THANKFUL I found it. I was afraid I would have to cut a lot of my hair off. Now I can keep it longer, which I prefer. Please give this serious consideration. 😃👍 ... show more

I'm a mobile Hair Designer and THIS particular tool is a cash generator. I use it just about every day. I've noticed one small problem.. When your going thru the motions of using it, the water reservation tends to un-click from it's position in the handle.. This ISN'T a deal-breaker but IS something one has to account for.
