    • This will save so much water!
We are on a septic system and I’ve always hated how much water we would run down the sink until it got hot, so I decided to install this water heater under our sink. Unfortunately, I had to remove our rarely used garbage disposal in order to make room for this, but it was super easy to install after that. When I first tested it, I was amazed at how fast it heated the water. The only reason I gave it a 4 is because I chose to just floor mount it and it really doesn’t have a flat bottom on it, so it rocks around a little. Not a big deal and certainly doesn’t affect the performance. It is so awesome to have almost instant hot water at the faucet! I currently have it set so the water is around 129 degrees, but I could turn it up a little more if desired. I also don’t have to use the “temperature boost” on our dishwasher, that makes it heat the water before washing. I love this thing! ... show more

Four gallons is more than enough for small tasks like washing your hands and face, filling up water for cooking, and washing dishes by hand. We didn't install this in an RV but rather in a bathroom that takes a long time to access hot water from the main water heater. There isn't enough water in this tank for a shower, but for everything else someone would want to use that bathroom for this gives basically on demand hot water. Works well. ... show more

It has an aesthetically pleasing design. I just with its can more connections accessories and instruction how to connect properly. It's pretty heavy so it will be a two man job, and you will have to find accessories as well. Overall I like it.

Depending upon the application this mini hot water heater may be a good option in a number of scenarios but may be best suited for an RV or outdoor kitchen. It provides a tank of 2 1/2 gallons of hot water on demand which is sufficient for small tasks and avoiding the wait for hot water from a main unit. The tank is somewhat bulky so available space is a consideration. For example in a standard kitchen it monopolizes a sizeable amount of the cabinet space under the sink and if there is a garbage disposal in place there isn’t much room remaining for cleaning supplies, dishwasher detergent tablets, etc. Additionally the instructions strongly suggest a drain pan be placed under the unit to avoid damage to the cabinet and surrounding area in the case of a leak which is smart but increases the footprint further decreasing remaining space. One more consideration--the power cord has a 3 prong plug and is 36 inches in length and the instructions state it may not to be used with an extension cord so it is wise to check the location of the electric outlet to be used to ensure the cable will reach. Included with the tank is a release valve, a mounting bracket if planning to install it on a wall or shelf along with instructions and warranty information. In addition to the drain pan some plumbing supplies will be needed for example Teflon tape or thread sealant for the water connections and no hoses are provided probably because of variances in installation scenarios so there is no one-size-fits all. If unfamiliar or uncomfortable with plumbing installations it may be wise to hire a professional to handle the job. Working as expected but cannot speak to longevity. ... show more
