    • You got to be kidding me...
I'm not a coffee snob, I'm a connoisseur...lol Just kidding I like the tactile idea of having to grind my own coffee beans... For quite a few years I ground them by hand using a manual crank single serve grinder. Actually I went through three of those... Then I got a roommate and in his infinite laziness complained that having to grind your own coffee beans by hand was way too much work... So I figured technology should have advanced far enough by now to have mini electric conical grinders that don't take up a quarter of your kitchen counter space... I was right and found a few fairly expensive ones... Then I found this one for an outrageously sensible price... The main complaint I read about it was that the grinder was unable to maintain a consistent grind. I discovered that this was due to the fact that the grind adjustment knob has nothing to grip to and turns in the same direction that the grind mechanism does. Basically becoming loose as the grinder operates. I solved this by removing the knob and taking some clear fingernail enamel and lightly brushing the underside metal part of the knob that comes in contact with the plastic insert of the bottom conical burr.(allowing it to dry disassembled of course) doing this allowed the knob to have enough grip and friction to prevent itself from becoming loosened from the mechanical action of the grinder. This thing works beautifully maintains a consistent grind and even has Auto shut-off. Is it lightning quick no? no miniature conical grinder truly is... But anyone complaining it taking more than a single minute to grind up two cups worth of beans just needs to take a seat and relax... Or better yet wash your cup and get your coffee maker ready... Battery life is great in my opinion. I believe you can get up to 7 grinds out of it before you can hear the grinder start to lose power... It also seems to be capable of quick charging. As well as having LED indicators to let you know when it is charging and when it is complete. This thing is awesome... ... show more

    • Absolute junk! Grinds itself up with crookedly drilled conical burrs. Shuts off after 1 second.
First, I loved the look and design with the glass collection jar. Then I tried using it and it's a whole different story... I never even put any coffee beans through this after seeing the misaligned internal conical burr component that causes the ceramic burrs to grind itself up. Sure enough, turning this on resulted in ceramic flakes coming out in the collection jar. I tried it again later, and the power shut off after 1-2 seconds, each time I pressed the button. I could not get it to run continuously again, even after loosening the grinder to the coarsest setting to have the least resistance. The idea is sound, but this product is a failure. I hope they come out with a version that actually works in the future. ... show more

    • Works Great For Flaxseed/Chia Seed Grinding Too
I use this to grind flaxseeds and chia seeds to put in my smoothies. It works great. It usually grinds for a few min before it stops (you can had tighten the grinder if needed too- I had to tighten it so the flaxseeds wouldn’t fall through) which also makes a more powdery grind. It’s been great!

    • Frustrating, but good for trips or camping
tl;dr: Okay for the price, but it has some major functionality issues. It stops running after a few seconds and doesn't stay on the grind size you put it on. However, it is small and rechargeable, so it could be useful for trips. I've now had this for a few months, so it seems like a good time to write a review. I got this grinder because it was way cheaper than most burr grinders on Amazon, so it seemed worth a shot. However, I would not recommend this item for daily use. For a couple of weeks it worked pretty well, but eventually it got really frustrating to use. The motor will no longer run for more than a few seconds at a time, even when fully charged. This issue is worse when you are trying to make a fine grind, and you have to press the button several times to get enough coffee for one cup. I also find that the dial you turn to select how fine or coarse your coffee is turns itself to be coarser over time, so its really hard to get the size you want. That being said, it is a burr grinder that costs $20. It's small and easy to transport. It holds a charge well, and you don't need to recharge it for several days at a time. I'm getting a nicer grinder for everyday use, but I'm going to keep this around to take with me on trips, especially visiting family this holiday season. It's nice to be able to take my preferred coffee beans with me instead of drinking whatever cheap coffee my family has laying around. ... show more

    • Slow but adequate
Initial impression was favorable on unboxing, but on the first grind the lower grinding disc unscrewed itself & fell into the jar. Fixed that with a couple of wraps of teflon tape around the threads & replaced the adjusting nut with a nylon wing nut (5mm thread). That worked great, no further problems with the adjustment, although the grind is not particularly consistent. Initially the battery managed a total of around 35 minutes total grind time on a fairly fine setting - about 3 to 4 turns of the adjustment nut backed off from a locked up position. Each grind of a full chamber averaged about 5 minutes. The grinder was used daily & all went well for about 10 months, by which time the battery was getting weaker & could no longer hold a full charge. The unit would cut off frequently during use even after a fresh charge. It would recover somewhat after a short rest & continue grinding, but for shorter periods. At 12+ months of use, I am getting no more than 2 chambers ground - with several restarts - before having to recharge the battery. The USB charging port is a bit on the cheap side, needing a few wiggles to make a good connection. The battery is replaceable, but a new battery on Amazon costs around 75% of a whole new unit, so is hardly worth doing. In conclusion, this unit operates well enough but is not up to daily use. ... show more
