  • Works Well and Stores Well
Color: Black
Looking for an alternative to the standard neckstrap in order to take the weight off my neck. This redistributes the weight to my shoulders and back nicely. I have a saxholder as well and, while it works well enough, I can't put it in the case with my sax for storage/transport. This strap stores very well in my sax case. Other aspects are that this strap looks nice and was priced very well. ... show more

  • Very nice
Color: Black
Definitely a great strap - I have been playing sax professionally for over a decade and have had some issues with neck pain. This strap has served me well (after some adjustment dur to it being a bit long) and I live how it distributes the weight to my shoulders and back. Would def recommend 👍🏼

  • Functional backup neck strap for the price
Color: White
I have 6 saxes in my active rotation, but only have 4 go-to straps. I wanted to get a cheap alternative as a backup that can live in each case, in case I forget to bring one of my go-to's. (Some of the others cost $75+, so I'm accustomed to using the higher-end solutions). The Bottom Line: It’s a functional, "okay" harness that gets the job done for a fraction of the price of premium brands. It effectively moves the weight off your neck and onto your shoulders, which is the main goal. A few things to keep in mind: Protect Your Horn: The metal clip isn't plastic-coated. To avoid scratching your lacquer, I’d suggest wrapping the hook heat-shrink tubing. (yeah, added hassle but worth it if you're sticking with this) Break-in Period: The shoulder/neck sections are initially stiff, enough that you may have a hard time squeezing this in the storage compartment of your case since it won't fold well. Depending on your build, it might feel a bit irritating until the material softens up and contours to your body. Strangely tangly cord: For whatever reason, maybe the texture of rope, it seems to get tangled a bit from sitting in the case, more so than some similarly designed straps, so it sometimes takes a min to sort out. It's fine and holds the height once you've set up. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly spare to keep in your case just in case, this is a solid value provided you have time to make the little mod to plasticoat the "hook" area. Just be prepared for a slightly less refined experience than the high-end models. ... show more

  • Excellent product.
Color: Brown
After two weeks of use, I can say that the Miwayer Saxophone neck strap with double shoulder harness is an excellent product. No product is perfect, but this product has solved a lot of problems and made being a working musician much easier than it used to be. The biggest consideration in favor of the shoulder harness is that it takes pressure off of the neck and Vagus nerve. The weight of a tenor saxophone is distributed over a much wider area than it would be with a normal neck strap, and since this harness is physically inflexible, the instrument doesn’t swing or make unexpected motions when holding it. It stays put, and the fact that it stays put deals with a problem any saxophonist with a normal neck strap is going to have, unwanted movement. No unwanted movement with Miwayer’s product. Finally, the hooking mechanism works with the entire saxophone family, as well as clarinets. I’ve tried it on several instruments, and the physical fit is always great. Now, no product is perfect. There’s some very inflexible metal in the parts of the strap which fall over the shoulder and chest. It took a good deal of bending with my hands to mold the strap to my body; I think it was built for someone with smaller, bonier shoulders than I have. It took about 15 minutes of molding, and I lift weights. I’m not sure everyone would be physically capable of bending the strap to fit their body. There’s another issue that’s just weird. Since a good deal of the strap is metal, including the mechanism which hooks onto the saxophone, it’s shiny in low light. More than one audience member has told me it looks distracting. And more than distracting, this metal of the hooking mechanism is hard enough that it can dent musical instruments. A dent in a finely machined instrument like a saxophone isn’t great for pitch and it can be expensive to repair, and it’s only a matter of time until that happens. As a professor once told me, perfection only exists in chess and physics, and even the physicists have their doubts about perfection these days. This is a great product. With a normal neck strap, I could play for at most 2 hours without being in pain. I’ve played for 3.5 hours at a stretch with very little discomfort this time. Great improvement! Nothing else I’ve used can touch this product. ... show more

  • Broke using with Bari
Color: Black
Really wanted to like this strap for my bari as I am looking for a less bulky strap. Unfortunately, it broke first time using it.

  • Best looking neck strap I've seen for a great price.
Color: White
I didn't even know neck straps like this were a thing. But wow this thing is amazing. I work with a marching band, and this is going to our bari sax player. The leather part is stiff, with what feels like metal support bars inside. So it will distribute the weight on the shoulders more than just the back of the neck. Even with the metal support, it is flexible. There are 2 bars that make up the part that goes over the shoulders, and the back is just leather so it can adjust to your shape. It has a long braided smooth adjustable cord and a heavy duty brass clip. The clip is coated in rubber where the weight of the instrument is to prevent scratching or damage. The wide brass hardware that the clip is attached too really helps for more even weight distribution. One main thing I love about it is how nice it looks. We just got brand new white uniforms and this really compliments the look. They just look really fancy. I will be getting more for next yr, hoping to have all of the sax sections wearing these for competition season. And the price is excellent, I've paid more for lesser quality shoulder straps. ... show more
