I had theses reels years ago back in the 70's and 80's. I recently found them on Amazon and said what the heck i'll try them again. They work really well. I have only used them about 10 - 15 times. So far i'am still very happy, if they last half the time the old ones did l'll be a very happy customer. Good name good reputation if their quality is the same it's a win win, if not i'll let everybody know , because i am sick and tired of products turning into crap to save a few bucks. UPDATE THIS REEL IS A PIECE OF CHINESE CRAP!!! I went out 2 days later and the drag just stop working, no fish, no snag, no over loading, it just stoped working. I took the spool off I did not see anything broken or damaged, I reassembled it and still nothing. I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER MITCHELL REEL, I AM NOW STUCK WITH 3 OTHER REELS THAT I DO NOT TRUST. Very fine reel , with only 1 fault the handle loosens, constantly needing tightening multiple times per evening of use. It came with two extra nylon washers with no explanation of what they are for. Although i’ve only used it one time thus far, I’m very happy that I bought it! I used it in Valdez, Alaska for Pink Salmon fishing and it cast and worked great. A very smooth reel. However, it came with no line but I already had 14 lb test in my tackle box that I put on. Perfect!
