Having bought shoe organizers like this before, I am very happy with this one. When you have a tight closet space, something like this is a necessity, but other kinds I have purchased in the past are always too small. If you want to store sneakers, loafers or booties, this is the organizer for you. I wouldn't say it's built like a tank, but it's not any less durable than other organizers out there. Because it's extra wide, there are 2 hanging clips on the top that you can slip over the hanging pole for stability. If you don't man-handle it, I would expect it to hold up over time. Meanwhile, all my ankle boots and sneakers have made it in there without incident. I actually decided to use my older, more narrow organizer for clutches instead. Not sure whose shoes fit well in those smaller ones. Would recommend, I can now see the floor of my closet. ... show more

There is a strong plastic smell when first opening the package. The hooks are not quite the right size for a typical closet rod bar—the circle is too small, which means it doesn’t sit all the way on the bar. It still seems secure enough not to come off the bar, but I don’t really like that it doesn’t sit in place like the rest of my hangers. I was a little worried when I opened this package and it seemed like it was on the smaller side, but once I got it out and hung up I realized just how versatile this organizer is. The size of this organizer is perfect! It’s not too big yet not too small and can hold a lot more than what I thought it would. I got this for my craft closet and was ecstatic when my photo boxes fit like a glove. I tried one of my plastic shoe boxes and it does stick out a little bit, but this is another option if you wanted to put your shoes in the organizer and not have to worry about your shoes getting dusty. I like that the clear plastic allows you to see the sides of each compartment and the gray matches my room colors perfectly. Though the shelves themselves are fabric they are reinforced and do have a sturdiness to them. One thing I don’t like is that the metal hanging hooks do not completely clamp onto my closet bar. It doesn’t seem to matter too much as long as I don’t store anything too heavy in the holders, but the OCD side of me is bothered. Though it is not flush I still feel like it is secure and am not scared of any of my items falling. This is a very versatile piece that I could see being used in linen closets for sheets or towels, kids rooms for clothes or shoes, and pretty much anywhere you can think as long as what you store isn’t too heavy. 1 star because I have no choice when reviewing - I purchased two of these. One for my husband and one for myself. We each put one pair of shoes on each level. I returned my husband's holder because the top piece bent and the plastic tore. Now mine has done the same thing. I got a refund for the first one and I should get a second one.     • Great space saver for storing miscellaneous items, not just shoes
Even though it's originally intended as a shoe organizer, we use it in our closet to store miscellaneous items that aren't easily categorized & frequently used. The organizer is very stable & sturdy, & performs this task very well. No complaints so far.
